Niccolò (or Nicolò) Paganini (27 October 1782 – 27 May 1840) was an Italian violinist, violist, guitarist, and composer. He was the most celebrated violin virtuoso of his time, and left his mark as one of the pillars of modern violin technique. His Caprice No. 24 in A minor, Op. 1, is among the best known of his compositions, and has served as an inspiration for many prominent composers.

Childhood

Niccolò Paganini was born in Genoa, Italy, the third of the six children of Antonio and Teresa (née Bocciardo) Paganini. Paganini's father was an unsuccessful trader, but he managed to supplement his income through playing music on the mandolin. At the age of five, Paganini started learning the mandolin from his father, and moved to the violin by the age of seven. His musical talents were quickly recognized, earning him numerous scholarships for violin lessons. The young Paganini studied under various local violinists, including Giovanni Servetto and Giacomo Costa, but his progress quickly outpaced their abilities. Paganini and his father then traveled to Parma to seek further guidance from Alessandro Rolla. But upon listening to Paganini's playing, Rolla immediately referred him to his own teacher, Ferdinando Paer and, later, Paer's own teacher, Gasparo Ghiretti. Though Paganini did not stay long with Paer or Ghiretti, the two had considerable influence on his composition style.
Early career

The French invaded northern Italy in March 1796, and Genoa was not spared. The Paganinis sought refuge in their country property in Romairone, near Bolzaneto. By 1800, Paganini and his father traveled to Livorno, where Paganini played in concerts and his father resumed his maritime work. In 1801, the 18-year-old Paganini was appointed first violin of the Republic of Lucca, but a substantial portion of his income came from freelancing. His fame as a violinist was matched only by his reputation as a gambler and womanizer.
In 1805, Lucca was annexed by Napoleonic France, and the region was ceded to Napoleon's sister, Elisa Baciocchi. Paganini became a violinist for the Baciocchi court, while giving private lessons to her husband, Felice. In 1807, Baciocchi became the Grand Duchess of Tuscany and her court was transferred to Florence. Paganini was part of the entourage, but, towards the end of 1809, he left Baciocchi to resume his freelance career.

For the next few years, Paganini returned to touring in the areas surrounding Parma and Genoa. Though he was very popular with the local audience, he was still not very well known in the rest of Europe. His first break came from an 1813 concert at La Scala in Milan. The concert was a great success. As a result, Paganini began to attract the attention of other prominent, albeit more conservative, musicians across Europe. His early encounters with Charles Philippe Lafont and Louis Spohr created intense rivalry. His concert activities, however, were still limited to Italy for the next few years.
His fame spread across Europe with a concert tour that started in Vienna in August 1828, stopping in every major European city in Germany, Poland, and Bohemia until February 1831 in Strasbourg. This was followed by tours in Paris and Britain. His technical ability and his willingness to display it received much critical acclaim. In addition to his own compositions, theme and variations being the most popular, Paganini also performed modified versions of works (primarily concertos) written by his early contemporaries, such as Rodolphe Kreutzer and Giovanni Battista Viotti.

I don't like the music of Brahms much, but this piece

performed by Jascha Heifetz is indeed one of the greats of my collection

I love this piece and remember many times having outrageously ecstatic experiences

listening to this violin concerto while on LSD

Wow! Amazing alright!!!

((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 07-03-2014

I've been watching this and...well...

incredible!!

Well, I gave my first performance for Mother Nature using the Starcaster

Eh, it's okay. The new pickguard with the AWESOME new pickups is already on the way to me

As it stands, it sounds kind of 'ify'

it can't hold a proverbial candle to my Les Paul

I've decided that I've learned my lesson trying to make a Stratocaster sound like a Les Paul One modified Stratocaster is more than enough for my needs

Okay, the Starcaster is not good for anything other than rock. That's more than good enough!
I'll use it just for Jimi Hendrix stuff, as a tribute. For that it's more than good enough

I'V BEEN SPENDING TOO MUCH DAMNED MONEY!!!

Most of what I recently ordered from Amazon is going back!!!

One Monoprice Route 66 is very special
Two are not as special

I now have two Les Paul guitars. That's more than enough, for crying out loud!!
I'm glad the Spirit brought me to my senses!

I mean, what guarantee do I have that their NEXT batch of Monoprice Route 66 guitars
will be just as good? They may have decided to cut corners and use cheaper hardware
in order to turn over a bigger profit, right?

Grumble, grumble, grumble....
*** IT!!!

I'll send most of the other stuff back and I ordered the black Route 66
Someone kick me in the heart and give me a heart attack

or in the ass and give me an 'ass attack'

MY COMMENT:
You would think that because of such advanced Vedic knowledge India would be the most advanced country on Earth. Instead India, through their media, proves itself to be much more insane than America!!

Some of the atrocities committed against women, in India, are so shameful they are plain disgusting. If this knowledge is so true why has it not transformed India into the most 'enlightened' country on Earth?

Because humans, in general, are indeed insane and nothing works to fix their problems. They obviously like their problems and do all they can to protect their problems, crazy idiots that humans are!

This song marks a new beginning in guitar playing for me

It is the beginning of very romantic lead guitar breaks centered on the melody lines of the songs

My guitar will sing instead of play fancy notes

This is a whole new romantic approach to music inspired by

my new Route 66 Gold Top Les Paul

((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 07-05-2014

I'm learning, again, from the Spirit that
in order for the lead guitar breaks to be especially unique

they MUST be based on the melody line of the song

that makes THAT PARTICULAR SONG unique in all the world

Unless this is done what I end up with is a generic lead break

that I have adapted to the song and that is disrespectful of the song

I should ALWAYS have respect for the melody line of the song

or I should not play the song at all.

I intend to do an instrumental version of this song

((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 07-05-2014

It's interesting
As I look for opportunities to play super-fast Malmsteen type guitar licks

in these new melodic songs...well...there are no opportunities!!!

It just doesn't fit

Oh, I'll admit that maybe for super-short moments that lead into melodic lines,

but more than that...it just doesn't fit!!!!

Hmmmm....

((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 07-06-2014

Actually, the last third of the song by Chicagoaffords me the opportunity for Malmsteen type

super-fast lead guitar!

Oh joy!!

Sure have been playing a lot of guitar lately

I have to stop now because one of my fingers

is burning too much!

Actually, I've been sick for a about a month and a halfI've decided that arguing with atheist skeptics on the Internet is not helping
I feel it is interfering with my ability to concentrate healing energy in and through my being

I've curtailed my arguing with the atheist skeptics, but not completely
Suddenly a cut opened up on the bottom of my foot
Just when I was ready to start getting into the groove of health
So I have to stay off my feet until it heals or it will never heal

I look forward to the day when I have stored enough personal power
in order to bend my personal reality any wonderful way I choose
In that day I will be able to heal myself very, very quickly!

That's a day well worth aiming for!
