((( THE NATURE OF REALITY ))) - Sacateca.sorcery - 10-22-2011 Mother Nature is Universal while the Spirit of the Earth is just of this planet That is the big difference between Mother Nature and the Spirit of the Earth. So what if you don't agree? How is that any of my business? Tonight, after Zumba/Martial Arts Cardio, Intent told me something extremely powerful and beyond what don Juan taught INTENT SAID: Truly great warrior men of Universal Knowledge are defined not by what the are against, but by what the are for! I was against those who were against CC's don Juan. Now that I have lost more respect for CC than ever before my concern is to build upon what don Juan taught. So I am moving away from being against anything and towards being FOR the wonderful and the inspiring no matter where I may find it. We really need to ask ourselves an important question: If there was an actual don Juan who eventually left the Earth how could CC PROVE this by the way he lived? How could CC PROVE he was not don Juan by the way he actually was? Then examine the way CC actually was and you will have your answer. HE MAY HAVE TRIED TO BE, BUT... CC WAS NO DON JUAN!!! Stop making people gods and start trusting your self. That is all you have anyways. When I encounter people who give me indirect answers to direct questions I feel like slapping them across the face. His benefactor used complex ploys to create an appropriate context for a counterpoint between the dictums of the rule and the behavior of the warriors in the daily world as they interacted with people. He believed that that was the way to convince them that, in the absence of self-importance, a warrior's only way of dealing with the social milieu is in terms of controlled folly. In the course of working out his ploys, don Juan's benefactor would pit the actions of people and the actions of the warriors against the commands of the rule, and would then sit back and let the natural drama unfold itself. The folly of the people would take the lead for a while and drag the warriors into it, as seems to be the natural course; only to be vanquished in the end by the more encompassing designs of the rule. Don Juan told us that at first he resented his benefactor's control over the players. Don Juan even told his benefactor that to his face. His benefactor was not fazed: He argued that his control was merely an illusion created by the Eagle: He was only an impeccable warrior, and his actions were a humble attempt to mirror the Eagle. Don Juan said that the force with which his benefactor carried out his designs originated from his knowledge that the Eagle is real and final, and that what people do is utter folly. The two together gave rise to controlled folly, which don Juan's benefactor described as the only bridge between the folly of people and the finality of the Eagle's dictums. http://landred.blogdns.co...tml/cc_html_06/eg10.html "The Eagle's Gift" - \ Carlos Castaneda The Nagual's Party of Warriors ((( THE NATURE OF REALITY ))) - BarefootInTheSand - 10-22-2011 In order for people to break free of all the habits, agreements and false perceptions that hold them in pattern something would have to interupt the flow of that pattern so seriously as to render it visible. Until CCs books one had only near death experiences or drugs to do that. DJ continued to present CC with situations where CC could not conform to the patterned programed behavior and would have to think for himself. In his books, however, CC never seemed to get it. However, we can know that he got it because he wrote the books. Freedom is not for everyone. It is hard. It means giving up the victim mentality and standing on ones own. Most do not want freedom. CC even mentioned this in his books. To be confronted by situations where you can see your usual robotic reactions is confronting. Many are offended by that confrontation. When they are they are faced with a very important choice. The safety of their old ways or stepping into the real. The choice they make is like a silent command to the universe and binds them in whatever they choose. CC even noted this in his books...you can only choose once. Not everyone is cut out to be a warrior. Many give in to their fears and desire for security. DJ was loving...and more kind than DJs benefactor had been to him. The upset of the confrontation cannot be helped...it is a part of the path...something that must be gone through and come out the other side. The same type of confrontational method was being taught by a number of people at the time CC wrote these books. CC gave it an interesting story but it is nothing new. ((( THE NATURE OF REALITY ))) - Sacateca.sorcery - 10-23-2011 Messages from Intent are increasing in power and majesty. Although I am still occasionally being given false messages from Intent in order to keep me on guard for counterfeit messages. I've been told that there four basic kinds of people in these forums: The first kind barely looks at a TRUE message from Intent given to me and goes on to other things The second kind reads the message, sniffs at it like a dumb dog, and THEN goes on to other things The third kind reads the message, sniffs at it and before leaving does his best to proverbially 'piss' on it The fourth kind is the most rare. He or she reads the message, tests it through application and gets a positive result. Such rare people are pleasing to the Spirit of Intent and set themselves up to receive even greater messages from Intent. BTW: What anyone does with a TRUE message from Intent given directly to me is none of my business. Whether or not you earn Heaven or hell for yourselves is YOUR business and none of mine Most of you people here are worth less than sh*t to me So what you do with the great things I may share, heck, I really don't care (made a poem) SPECIAL EDIT: Some of you lying, cheating, dumbasss tricksters may wonder why I am still here considering you do your best to piss on every good thing I may share. Well, I can feel the power of Intent leading me to Ultimate Victory and I rejoice in the fact that ALL OF YOU who are against me are about to find out you were DEAD wrong, wrong, wrong!! THE FIRE FROM WITHIN is the author's most brilliant, thought-provoking and unusual book, one in which Castaneda, under the tutelage of don Juan and his "disciples," at last constructs, from the teachings of don Juan and his own experiences, a stunning portrait of the "sorcerer's world" that is crystal-clear and dizzying in its implications. "It's impossible to view the world in quite the same way after reading THE FIRE FROM WITHIN." - Chicago Tribune MY COMMENT: Well, it doesn't seem to me that it matters to these reviewers whether or not don Juan was an actual person, does it? Were they more intelligent that the bulk of you in this forum or less intelligent? I vote: 'MORE INTELLIGENT'. "1. The New Seers I had arrived in the city of Oaxaca in southern Mexico on my way to the mountains to look for don Juan. On my way out of town in the early morning, I had the good sense to drive by the main square, and there I found him sitting on his favorite bench, as if waiting for me to go by. I joined him. He told me that he was in the city on business, that he was staying at a local boardinghouse, and that I was welcome to stay with him because he had to remain in town for two more days. We talked for a while about my activities and problems in the academic world. As was customary with him, he suddenly hit me on my back when I least expected it, and the blow shifted me into a state of heightened awareness. We sat in silence for a very long time. I anxiously waited for him to begin talking, yet when he did, he caught me by surprise. "Ages before the Spaniards came to Mexico," he said, "there were extraordinary Toltec seers, men capable of inconceivable deeds. They were the last link in a chain of knowledge that extended over thousands of years. "The Toltec seers were extraordinary men- powerful sorcerers, somber, driven men who unraveled mysteries and possessed secret knowledge that they used to influence and victimize people by fixating the awareness of their victims on whatever they chose." He stopped talking and looked at me intently. I felt that he was waiting for me to ask a question, but I did not know what to ask. "I have to emphasize an important fact," he continued, "the fact that those sorcerers knew how to fixate the awareness of their victims. You didn't pick up on that. When I mentioned it, it didn't mean anything to you. That's not surprising. One of the hardest things to acknowledge is that awareness can be manipulated." I felt confused. I knew that he was leading me toward something. I felt a familiar apprehension; the same feeling I had whenever he began a new round of his teachings. I told him how I felt. He smiled vaguely. Usually when he smiled he exuded happiness. This time he was definitely preoccupied. He seemed to consider for a moment whether or not to go on talking. He stared at me intently again, slowly moving his gaze over the entire length of my body. Then, apparently satisfied, he nodded and said that I was ready for my final exercise, something that all warriors go through before considering themselves fit to be on their own. I was more mystified than ever. "We are going to be talking about awareness," he continued. "The Toltec seers knew the art of handling awareness. As a matter of fact, they were the supreme masters of that art. When I say that they knew how to fixate the awareness of their victims, I mean that their secret knowledge and secret practices allowed them to pry open the mystery of being aware. Enough of their practices have survived to this day, but fortunately in a modified form. I say fortunately because those activities, as I will explain, did not lead the ancient Toltec seers to freedom, but to their doom." "Do you know those practices yourself?" I asked. "Why, certainly," he replied. "There is no way for us not to know those techniques, but that doesn't mean that we practice them ourselves. We have other views. We belong to a new cycle." "But you don't consider yourself a sorcerer, don Juan, do you?" I asked. "No, I don't," he said. "I am a warrior who sees. In fact, all of us are los nuevos videntes- the new seers. The old seers were the sorcerers. "For the average man," he continued, "sorcery is a negative business, but it is fascinating all the same. That's why I encouraged you, in your normal awareness, to think of us as sorcerers. It's advisable to do so. It serves to attract interest. But for us to be sorcerers would be like entering a dead-end street." MY COMMENT: The book is filled with knowledge like this. Like I keep saying you people in this forum have one of two choices. ((( THE NATURE OF REALITY ))) - Genardo Sacateca - 10-25-2011 "Self-importance is our greatest enemy. Think about it. What weakens us is feeling offended by the deeds and misdeeds of our fellow men. Our self-importance requires that we spend most of our lives offended by someone. "The new seers recommended that every effort should be made to eradicate self-importance from the lives of warriors. I have followed that recommendation, and much of my endeavors with you has been geared to show you that without self-importance we are invulnerable." ...He said that seers, old and new, are divided into two categories. The first one is made up of those who are willing to exercise self-restraint and can channel their activities toward pragmatic goals which would benefit other seers and man in general. The other category consists of those who don't care about self-re-straint or about any pragmatic goals. It is the consensus among seers that the latter have failed to resolve the problem of self-importance. "Self-importance is not something simple and naive," he explained. "On the one hand, it is the core of everything that is good in us; and on the other hand, the core of everything that is rotten. To get rid of the self-importance that is rotten requires a masterpiece of strategy. Seers through the ages have given the highest praise to those who have accomplished it." I complained that the idea of eradicating self-importance, although very appealing to me at times, was really incomprehensible. I told him that I found his directives for getting rid of it so vague I could not follow them. "I've said to you many times," he said, "that in order to follow the path of knowledge, one has to be very imaginative. You see, in the path of knowledge nothing is as clear as we'd like it to be." "Warriors fight self-importance as a matter of strategy, not principle," he replied. "Your mistake is to understand what I say in terms of morality." "I see you as a highly moral man, don Juan," I insisted. "You've noticed my impeccability, that's all," he said. "Impeccability, as well as getting rid of self-importance, is too vague a concept to be of any value to me," I remarked. Don Juan choked with laughter, and I challenged him to explain impeccability. "Impeccability is nothing else but the proper use of energy," he said. "My statements have no inkling of morality. I've saved energy and that makes me impeccable. To understand this, you have to save enough energy yourself." We were quiet for a long time. I wanted to think about what he had said. Suddenly, he started talking again. "Warriors take strategic inventories," he said. "They list everything they do. Then they decide which of those things can be changed in order to allow themselves a respite in terms of expending their energy." MY COMMENT: As I read The Fire From Within I am realizing that everything don Juan stated which I cannot personally verify I judge by the standards of how interesting it is, not by whether or not it is true. As with all mythologies, I feel the stories that carry the important lessons must be interesting. That is more important than for the stories to be true. I find the stories about the ancient Toltec seers to be very interesting. Is it true? I don't know, but I do know it is interesting and the narratives that lead to the importantly true knowledge that don Juan shares are interesting, compelling and very well written. These lessons about self-importance are tremendously important to those who truly want to better themselves. It stands to reason that they mean nothing to those who care nothing about bettering themselves; and that pretty much sums up the ways of the CC skeptics. They care nothing about bettering themselves. They are always trying to find fault. It is the fault finders in life that make life a miserable experience. They are always looking for things to complain about. I consider such people to be losers and only fools consistently associate with losers. I am determined to MAKE the best of don Juan's teachings, and those of others, work to better my life. While you losers continue to nit pick I will continue to become stronger and to advance. We'll see who has the last laugh. As far as laughter is concerned, one of the MAIN THINGS that still inspires me about don Juan was his ability to laugh at things that would make me frustrated. I've done my best to emulate don Juan in this and have had tremendous success! I am now much, much better at laughing at things that used to frustrate me and I also have greater control over my self-importance. Interesting to see the correlation between the two. It is logical to conclude that the less self-importance one has the easier it becomes to laugh at the frustrations and ironies of life. I've also validated the don Juan concept of saving energy through impeccable thoughts, words, actions and reactions to life. Living an un-impeccable life is like continually driving through life in a car with tires that have slow leaks. It's difficult to get anywhere when your tires are continually going flat because they have slow leaks. You always have to expend extra energy refilling them. Life, at its best, is not this way. The true warrior does his best to fix all the slow leaks in his life through increasingly impeccable living. The more energy a warrior saves the more he can do and the Universe respects a warrior who truly respects himself. The sloppy-minded, self-important weaklings who are always finding fault should never expect any great things from the Sentient Universe. Don Juan was indeed correct in that the Universe is Sentient, Conscious and Aware. I never remember him directly stating this, but it was always implied. That is why he lived his life directed by agreements from the world and by omens. These are the continual reminders that the Universe is indeed Sentient, Conscious and Aware.
