((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 05-18-2016 ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Don Genardo Sacateca - 05-18-2016 ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Guest - 05-18-2016 I'm not saying I disagree with you. Medication isn't the solution. There are scientific research studies which have proven brain chemical imbalances can be addressed with medication. However, the brain is a complex computer and doctors still struggle with knowing which buttons to push. Medications are a short term fix if they're used at all. That is the best crappiest solution available. Certain types of psychosis can be treated without medication. Some, like schizophrenia, is a brain structure abnormality. You can't fix that with therapy or medication (but there is medication available and it's a lifetime medication). I agree with you, mental health is largely struggling to properly treat people who are atypical. Then again, society struggles with being environmentally friendly, with terrorists, and finding a friendly political climate. Us Earthlings are largely inept in our problem solving attempts. Why only complain about the shrinks? ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 05-18-2016 Tell me the NAMES of the scientific experiments showing that certain peoplehave a chemical imbalance in the brain. From these documentaries it is said NO SUCH SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS EXIST!!! ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Guest - 05-18-2016 I found two, to start with: Kemp, J. J., Lickel, J. J., & Deacon, B. J. Behaviour Research and Therapy, 56, 47-52. doi:10.1016/j.brat.2014.02.009 Melnyk, S., Fuchs, G. J., Schulz, E., Lopez, M., Kahler, S. G., Fussell, J. J.. . Jill James, S. (2012;2011 . Metabolic imbalance associated with methylation dysregulation and oxidative damage in children with autism. Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 42(3), 367-377. doi:10.1007/s10803-011-1260-7Maybe the video producers didn't commit to doing thorough research? I don't know. It's a tricky area though--does medication 'cure' mental illness? Not reliably. Shrinks do trial and error when writing prescriptions, then observe clients when they're put on new medication. If it doesn't help, the shrink switches medication. If it helps a little, the shrink increases the dosage. Is that a good tactic? Is that an approach that makes the shrink seem knowledgeable? I suppose if I'm being tormented by inner voices, I'd be open to most medication. It's better than throwing my hands up and saying, "Eh, I guess I just have to endure this." It's a case by case, person by person thing. ((( The Practical Seer ))) - serloco - 05-18-2016 http://brainblogger.com/2012/05/29/full ... zophrenia/ Cure for schizophrenia. Read it. It's enlightening. ((( The Practical Seer ))) - serloco - 05-18-2016 It has been discovered i recent neurogenesis that re thinking mental illness is, or can be, a successful cure. You see thinking positively about your own mind builds those pathways. Serious mental illness can be beaten and shaped by yourself and by a positive environment. Positive psychosocial interaction is the leading cause for recovery from not only mental illness but other conditions as well such as stroke. If you build positive perceptions and focus and believe that you can heal, then you will. Since mental illness is a problem in the mind you must start there and begin controlling what you feed your mind. Build positive energy and direction. Peoe who believe then can heal DO heal. ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 05-18-2016 "But is the “Chemical Imbalance” theory true? The chemical imbalance theory as a cause for anxiety and depressive disorders never was true. In fact, no experiment has ever shown that anyone has an ‘imbalance’ of any neurotransmitters or any other brain chemicals. The entire theory was hypothetical. Over the last ten years, independent research has continually shown the chemical imbalance theory to be false. Furthermore, independent research has shown medications used to ‘correct’ the imbalance were largely ineffective with many fairing no better than placebo." http://www.anxietycentre.com/anxiety/ch ... ance.shtml ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Genardo Sacateca - 05-18-2016 "The "chemical imbalance" myth ...However, there is one (rather large) problem with this theory: there is absolutely no evidence to support it. Recent reviews of the research have demonstrated no link between depression, or any other mental disorder, and an imbalance of chemicals in the brain (Lacasse & Leo, 2005; (Valenstein, 1998). The ineffectiveness of antidepressant drugs when compared to placebo cast even more doubt on the “chemical imbalance” theory. (See my recent articles Placebos as effective as antidepressants and A closer look at the evidence for more on this.) Folks, at this point you might want to grab a cup of tea. It’s going to take a while to explain the history of this theory, why it is flawed, and how continues to persist in light of the complete lack of evidence to support it. I will try to be as concise as possible, but there’s a lot of material to cover and a lot of propaganda I need to disabuse you of...." https://chriskresser.com/the-chemical-imbalance-myth/ ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Don Genardo Sacateca - 05-18-2016 "Are Your Chemicals out of Balance?Perhaps the most frequently cited evidence in support of the chemical imbalance hypothesis is the effectiveness of antidepressants, many of which increase the amounts of serotonin and other neurotransmitters at synapses. Zoloft, Prozac and similar selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) result in such an increase and can often relieve depression, at least when it is severe. As a result, many believe that a deficiency in serotonin and other neurotransmitters causes the disorder. But just because a drug reduces symptoms of a disease does not mean that those symptoms were caused by a chemical problem the drug corrects. Aspirin alleviates headaches, but headaches are not caused by a deficiency of aspirin." http://www.scientificamerican.com/artic ... chemistry/ ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Sacateca - 05-18-2016 MY COMMENT: It seems what we have here is similar to Darwinian evolution. One side interprets the evidence one way and the other side interprets it differently. Personally, I tend to believe the documentaries more than I believe THE DRUG COMPANIES!!! I say: Those who put their faith in the drug companies and their propaganda are fools who will one day regret their blind faith in a corrupt 'science' ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Genardo Sacateca - 05-18-2016 “The antidepressant found in Williams' toxicology test, Mirtazapine (Remeron), has 10 drug regulatory agency warnings citing suicidal ideation.” "According to the autopsy results, not only was Williams under the influence of antidepressant drugs, but the powerful antipsychotic Seroquel was also found at the scene and appears to have been recently taken by Williams. While toxicology tests apparently were negative for the antipsychotic Seroquel, the fact remains that a bottle of Seroquel prescribed to Williams on August 4th, just seven days prior to Williams’ suicide, was missing 8 pills. The Seroquel instructions advise to take one pill per day as needed. Side effects associated with Seroquel include psychosis, paranoid reactions, delusions, depersonalization and suicide attempt." https://www.cchrint.org/2014/11/10/robi ... ant-drugs/ ((( The Practical Seer ))) - Don Genardo Sacateca - 05-18-2016 I DON'T WANT TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS ANYMORE IF YOU ARE SUCKER ENOUGH TO FALL FOR DRUG COMPANY PROPAGANDA YOU DESERVE WHATEVER COMES TO YOU AS A RESULT!! Sacateca, there are some neuropsychological disorders which benefit from medication. If receptors in the brain are not receiving chemicals, there is a chemical imbalance (the brain is functioning in an atypical manner). Medication sometimes work to relieve symptoms. Medications sometimes don't work to relieve symptoms. Take it or dont. Believe documentaries over peer reviewed, scholarly research studies. That's fine too. Science is a growing field, sometimes they're wrong. It's always changing and adapting to new information.
