Introducing: trinsic paridiom - trinsic - 01-20-2014 Hello, its very interesting that I received a communication from Sorcery on this day as my intention was to return today to talk about what I have learned in my practice of becoming a warrior on this very day. What an omen. My History:Before I was introduced to Carlos Castaneda's Books , for over five years I have had a real interest in adapting the screenplay for a film called "Stalker". An modern adaptation of Andrei Tarkovsky's "Stalker" and The PC Game Series S.T.A.L.K.E.R. But I wanted strengthen the spiritual component of the idea of the Stalker that originated in the book Tarkovskys Film was based on called Roadside Picnic. Back then I had a real interest in understanding what happens after the body dies in my own life that I want to some how convey in the screenplay. It was then that I stumbled upon The Teachings of Don Juan in a bookstore. The Stalker concepts in the book were surprising to me in two ways: 1. That my story centers around the word "Stalker" and how each are used in different ways in the two different works and 2. That I think I might have found a good interpretation of what happens to the body after death. I read though all the books in about a year and afterwards I came to the realization that I was living my life very carelessly. I still have to this day a strong desire to indulge in self-importance. Im lazy, not consistent, I get distracted often and I could do better in living a disciplined life. Either way it has really help me to continue writing this project and I hope to include Don Juans methods into the metaphorical aspects of the film I am currently working on hoping to wake people out of the sleep I found myself in for many years. I get the concept of the books, but I could do better at applying them to my life. As it stands right now. I'm reading a book "The teachings of Don Carlos" by victor sanchez to help me apply the practices to my life. I'm currently working on cataloging my energy expenditures. which involves a timer that alerts me every 30mins to inquire on paper my thoughts, my actions, and questioning myself on my actions. I get sidetracked easy and lose track of the fact that I am taking this inventory from time to time. I wondered if anyone else found them selves having trouble becoming a warrior and how they are handling it in modern society? I think the biggest issue is being so close to a large population of people. On the weekends I go walking with my wife in the park my lack of practice diminishes. One day I would like to find a quieter place to practice Don Juans methods. Anyway I am happy to be back and look forward to learning a much as I can from everyone here. Thank you for keeping this site alive. Its a real help for me right now as things get worse on the planet. Introducing: trinsic paridiom - delawaredan - 01-20-2014 it is nice to have you here trinsic! Good luck on your screen play...it sounds interesting. I too find it hard to stay on the path many times in my everyday world. I think it is important not to be too hard on yourself, sometimes that is worse then self importance (in fact it is another form of self importance). keep working on your goals and I hope to see you around here. Introducing: trinsic paridiom - Senear - 01-21-2014 Welcome trinsic. Yea it can be rough to do things by the book, sometimes. But im of the mind if it doesnt work, to toss it aside and find something that does... another angle of the same doing or not doing. Even if that means sneaking away for 10 minutes at work to practice diffuse seeing, or silence. Or using the distractions to self stalk, see the "flyer" in others, be aware of ones interactions, and loss's and gains of power. It seems there are lots of ways to put the concepts into practice, even if ones situation does not lend itself to disapearing into the sonoran desert to hunt for peyote, talking crows and the wind at sunset for weeks at a time. Thank you, yes there are other ways. But it would be nice to disappear for awhile Do you guys find that you start to loose your desire to work on projects that are part of the world or find its not necessary anymore? As I re-read don juans talk on the flyer, i noticed that he says "The sorcerers' revolution is that they refuse to honor agreements in which they did not participate. Nobody ever asked me if I would consent to be eaten by beings of a different kind of awareness. My parents just brought me into this world to be food, like themselves, and that's the end of the story. The more you think about it, and the more you talk to and observe yourself and your fellow men, the more intense will be the conviction that something has rendered us incapable of any activity or any interaction or any thought that doesn't have the self as its focal point. Your concern, as well as the concern of everyone you know or talk to, is the self." As I am working on this screen play I think my desire is to help other people, but maybe its self-importance? Is there any doings in the world of men that can be in the direction of helping people wake up with out it being self-importance? or is that a self-importance in itself? lol Introducing: trinsic paridiom - Guest - 01-22-2014 What up, Trinsic! Introducing: trinsic paridiom - Guest - 01-22-2014 It was a theatrical play actually. Movies are more like stories. Theaters are more of a performance where the characters intensify in response to the audience Come and post on our glorious boards. Introducing: trinsic paridiom - serloco - 01-22-2014 The concept that most eluded me at first was will and intent. I found that there just was not much to go on, being an abstract concept. I took what little he gave, like abandoning yourself after you set your intent, and the rest pretty much fell into place afterwards just like he said it would. I remember he said something like you just have play around with it in your awareness for awhile while you intend to learn of it and then one day something just clicks and you understand. It led me to the concept that we can willingly intend the unknown into awareness. Introducing: trinsic paridiom - Guest - 08-21-2019 |
