The challenge of the warrior is that he/she will always have to travel to Ixtlan but will never reach it.

Average men are so used to get somewhere, to stop and take a stand, to finally get out of the bushes and become something. "Now I finally made it, now I'm there, now I'm a nagual, now I'm a sorcerer, now I'm this or that". It's the continuos struggle that overcomes them. A warrior, on the other hand, never truly stops. He may give himself, he never really loses time in doing so because he assumes full responsability for his actions. Even if what he does may seem like an indulgence, it is still a warrior's act as long as he continues on his path. He does so until the phantoms do not lure him anymore, until what used to be familiar is seen for what it is: grey, pale, washed-out, without power, without life. He then picks himself up, at the right moment, leaves everything as it is, and continues his journey.
