i find this fascinating, because after reading the books and talking to others, it seems most peoples experiences contain grabbing them or wrestling with them, in order to obtain them. mine seem to show up and although, i had a 2 1/2 year struggle with an ally that was not my own, i've never had to wrestle any of them. Any ideas on why this is, or is it that, i hadn't read the books for so long and therefore, i didn't assume i had to do this. thoughts, feelings and experiences please...

Its not actually yours yet. None of them are. Till its actually moved its base to a place of mutual agreement its just an IB thats making contact with you.
The years you have had dealing with it is just just its form of getting your attention, starting a communication.
In terms of IB relationships you are still just making out, prob 2 base, with a bit of necking thrown in at times.
Get a gourd, see if it wants to come live in it.

that one does live in a gourd ss actually 3 of them do. i was never interested in knowing about ib's...the only reason i had to know about allies was the one giving me grief, and now, its mine and not his...i appreciated what you knew about them however..you should share it somewhere..maybe here..

I have dealt with allies a great deal and have never had to physically wrestle one. I would say that wrestling them is a metaphor to describe the relationship with them. One does most certainly wrestle with them with their attention, or their awareness. Many of the allies i know are pure awareness, unformed and raw. As you wrestle with an ally it will change or shift their awareness, and yours with it. As you shift your awareness on them they will change to match your awareness. They have the potential to take any form. Many allies have no volition of their own, meaning that they move to the volition of the sorcerer. They harness this volition and move to it, changing form as they do. I have often called the ally world the mirror world, because it mirrors your intent perfectly to create their forms. Shifting awareness is a shifting world.
Its a hard pill to swallow, but many allies exist in the natural world we know. They take the form of average people and act in average ways, ways to be expected for average people. You can find them in groups of people quite often, and to get their attention you can shift your awareness and then listen to the words they speak, or watch the actions they carry out. They are all seers, meaning they can see your inner awareness perfectly, every shift you make they sense. They are telepathic and when you get their attention they will begin speaking to your mind as you think. They hook your attention to them in a very magical way. Then they will ride this attention to wherever it takes them and you. It is the motion of reality. Approaching an ally with normal intent will manifest normal conditions, and so it takes a little more to get their real attention. Sorcery knowledge and awareness is usually enough to attract them to you, that and the intent to meet them. Many sorcerers study their words very carefully because they are very purposeful and important. When they single you out all their words will be directed at you, and for a specific purpose. Being great seers of intent will and awareness they can greatly aid a sorcerer and with little effort. Often they will point out flaws and dangers to the sorcerer, pointing out problematic thoughts/awareness and what they create. Great teachers they can be. When you really get one that likes you you can get them to send you into the ally world, or have them form a new world close to the world you know where you can dream changes into the world. They will guide your awareness to whatever your intent intends.
Some allies enjoy feelings and emotions and try to get the sorcerer to live them deeply so they can bask in the energy of them. These ones can be a pain in the ass when it comes to fear. But if you give them the deep emotions they can do great things for you. Many sorcerers develop their bodies to feed their allies these emotions and feelings and in return the allies show the sorcerer marvels and teach them great feats of awareness. Being in a world full of allies can be like a preschooler entering a university.
I too followed the allies who like emotions and it was awesome. At times it was scary as my awareness reached fluidity and then would be moved to raw potential, then fears would all come into play, and the allies watched me trembling in fear and power. Then later when we had shifted through many places we would reach a love. A feeling a pure love directed at sorcery and all it contains. A deep love for life and for allies especially. It was bliss. I would caress a tree branch and watch as the tree moved and returned my embrace with an embrace of its own.

Once, I was in a forest in the night, pretty far from a town, and I felt very sad I did not know why so did I wanted to channel up some allies, I some some flying shadows and pretty scary tree, cut in half that looked like some dark alien humanoid beign, then after walking for a few a did some taichi kungfu gigong moves and still strived for some presence of ally some inorganic that would very close to me in his own form, after while I heard a quick sound like a cutted of sound of roar and it was pretty scary in that forest it was very shadowy that night without moon and dark clouds on sky, I was also in forest I did not knew at all, so It had kinda vicious atmosphere, but after encounters of the shadow flying IBs, and pretty scary trump, it made my heart kind of a steel, so I intended to meet a huge big dragon, right now, right there, I started to feel kind of a presence that was very overwhelming as the dragon is really big, cast fire and is carnivorous, actually the little fear was the point that catched my attention fully and wind began to blow harder and harder, I even heard stomps in before, that felt like stomping my very beign but I still remained in kind of a proud stance of warrior ready to die and then I saw one red flash like a eye in the darkness and the presence of dragon permeated my whole beign, I saw him and felt him, I was delighted to see such a mythical beign and that shifted me into totaly different state where I was kind a joy, instead sad, scared and alone, I smiled and I saw a dragon smile too somewhere between the branches and my inner eye. I breathed the air fully and it felt refreshing like drinking water, than I started to see like three lights closing in by to me through the forest, I felt again fear for an instance but not alone again, these was very real an were moving to me pretty fast, then I heard steps of running feets and I realized they are humans, they ran past me through the forest not on the path, and as I moved on the forestpath, they started to be everywhere, they were running and all around in groups and alone, with lights shining on the path from their heads, I counted like 30 of them running in different direction across the woods, then as I continued on my path through forest three of them were standing on the way looking on a map, it made me curious what they are doing here, because they were not IBs but Humans so I did asked them "What is happening around here?" they said me they are in "Orientation Game" whilst looking on the map, so I asked them for a way to how to get to the traffic transport and they pointed the way out for me.
I wonder if there is some difference between inorganic and organic -humans and if not, why did the new seers disclosed to not use them at all.
