One starts with reading and exploring the world's knowledge. The ancient beliefs and texts. Learning about the mysteries of life. Relating to the living beings in your world. Trees, animals, insects, fish, how they relate to the world and to us. Learning to silence your mind so you can listen.
Dreaming is key. You create a dreaming body and practice lucid moments in dreaming. Advancing this is to leave the body and be aware of the "complete" double you do this with. Once you have passed certain "gates" in dreaming the awake world becomes more fluid and your perception begins to change, waver.
You will begin to change and realize what extent your control of your human mind is really yours. If you become a warrior you will seek to battle your inner "demon or foreign installation". Once you win this battle you will have to reconstruct your inner dialogue because it is how you have learned to function all those years. You will realize nothing matters. Death of the human body is final. You may seek escape from death. This will take learning to shift your awareness.
A New Seer embraces the dreaming challenge. Learns to control the internal dialogue. Forms intent and becomes a fluid warrior/person. The expression "man of knowledge" applies to the new seers as it means they know the world for what it is and how it relates to the universe.
The new seers now must use this transformation and create the new path with heart for that is what the old seers lacked...heart.

I agree with you completely when you say "death of the human body is final." That being the case, I would be curious to hear more about your thoughts on "escaping death". How do you yourself define this? Do you see it as a function of the double or dreaming body - shifting awareness from the human body into the energy body? If so, is that what you would see as darting past the eagle to be free - that moment of transference of awareness from organic to inorganic Self?

I challenge the statement: you have to create your dream body. In my knowledge every human being has a dream body and astral body given at birth. Only when one experiences a shamanic or symbolic death does the astral and dream body transform to reach farther places. We have other bodies and selves that are multidimensional. one can in a dream shift their awareness between these bodies. Doing this regularly will eventually enable you to shift awareness to other bodies while awake also. Everything starts with dreaming. The Energy body permeates all your bodies physical, astral dream and so on.

This sentence intrigues me...want to define it in my own words. Heart in this case means "connection to all." Not selfish concerns or gain, but love that in unconditional, expansive. But that sounds like the hippy movement. Love, peace, etc. Or Buddhism. I think for the new seers its not like the hippy movement, the new seers are warriors and adventures of the unknown. They use their love and affection for the world, knowledge, creatures... to enhance their journey, but first and foremost they are journeyers rather than complacent, which is what I think hippies were, complacent in a way. Too content with the conclusions of the tonal structure, wanting merely to revamp it rather than transcend it. So a new seer has a bit of a hippy/free-spirit in him/her but is more than that, s/he is a sorcerer and dimension traveler (without drugs). The old seers were sorcerers, dimensional travelers who lacked heart..compassion. They hit their limit in the transformational journey. That's how the beginning of the new seers came about...by observing the mistakes of the old, learning from it.

They were concerned with themselves only..to the point of murdering others to eat the hearts and get the power (aztecs) and also they wanted to live forever, but this meant their ego intact and defy infinity (God, Spirit) rather than bend with infinity in grace, be a vehicle for it to work through us.
We've learned from that that one of the first steps is to defeat the flyer. Then we see the new order and how to proceed. If we don't do this first we get confused like the old seers did, lack the clarity and heart that comes from following a higher power, that yes that higher force may be 'us' but it guides us. So as long as we have individual awareness (are an entity), we follow source.

This is a judgment call--it may be important for you to differentiate in this manner but in doing so it closes off important tools--ones you may not wish to use, but powerful tools nonetheless. Any tool can be used for a specific purpose and for a specific time frame--when overused or use is extended beyond the inherent functionality of that tool then the tool becomes a liability rather than an asset. The statement also differentiates between external objects (drugs and money) and internal energy expenditure (internal discipline and power) and I think it's optimal to leave as many categorizations as we can open rather than defining them or putting them into categories that limit them. We can also look at these "categories"--drugs, money, internal discipline, energetic power--as energy in motion--neither good nor bad, and therefore useful as energy expansion if the timing is right, if our intent is set, and if those things come before our awareness for our individual use and exploration.

Escaping death is the real reason I was fascinated with the Teachings of Don Juan. We as humans can will our own death. I can stop my heart with my mind. I can restart my heart. What does this tell me? I can intend death. I believe also I can shift when the death event begins and shed my body. For I learned when the heart beat stops awareness still continues. The body no longer will contain the spirit and the spirit is freed. What happens next is the big question. The description of "darting past the eagle" which is pretty much inaccurate meaning that we are this fast moving being and avoiding the talons reaching for us. This description is from the old seers. They wanted power, power over their fellow men, black magicians in dreaming and in real life they were. The eagle/spirit played their game but in the end wanted them to lose for the main ingredient of nature/universe is advancing, mutating, adapting and overcoming. Since the first living being we have been a experiment in survival. The spirit favors those who have heart, who see with tears and know their love is absorbing the manifestations of its intent.
Who gives humans dreaming bodies at birth? I can see this old fellow with a bag full of dreaming doubles handing them out to each new person being born on their way to the womb.. All beings dream. They have these bubbles of awareness that go out into the world in dreaming. One has to advance in dreaming to create the dreaming double. The dreaming double often resembles their body but it is not always the case. The double of a nagual being can actually advance to having its own personality/awareness which is independent of the human. The dreaming double is used to escape death but that ability is not just "given" to it. It must advance through stalking the eagle or with the aid of the inorganics.

I had to laugh at the image of some guy with a sackful of dreaming bodies, handing them out. Somehow made me think of Santa and his bag of toys for good girls and boys I personally don't *see* that there is anything "out there" other than Intent and Will. No deities. No demons. Just the warrior and the foreign installation - and the opportunity to create our dreaming body (double) seeming to be the only real "way out" that enables us to keep our awareness.
Was reading something on another forum recently, where a couple of guys were arguing about karma and reincarnation. Both seemed to be stuck on the idea that there is "something out there" handing out karma and regulating reincarnation. Personally I can't get to that, but to each his own. That's why the Toltec path seems to be a good starting place for those who are ready to let go of their belief systems - especially religious belief systems which, ultimately, only rob man of his power by encouraging him to place his "faith" in some extant force or intelligence. The only thing I've ever heard from that line of thinking that makes any sense came from a Buddhist monk, who said, "if I create a deity outside myself, does that make the deity any less real than if it was created by someone else, or self-created?" I thought about that for a long time, but came to the conclusion that if we create a deity outside the self, then the deity is still the Self at the end of the day.
With regard to the double taking on a life of its own, I can attest to this firsthand. Of course, I would say to anyone who might disagree, it's just my own experience and as such is only information to anyone other than myself. To me, and obviously to you, it is Knowledge. The main reason I think this "matters" (if it does) is because I see a lot of people taking the Castaneda books as gospel, concluding that the double can only be this way or that way based on what Carlos reported, when the reality of it is that the double (and, indeed, ALL aspects of sorcery) are as unique as the practitioner. If someone is limited by what Castaneda said, it's because they have chosen to limit themselves by believing as opposed to experiencing the phenomenon directly.

Yes, absolutely. Someone asked me last week to define "spirit". Kinda like being asked to define love or time without using the word love or time in the definition. All I could say was that I personally see spirit as the ethereal manifestation of our organic and inorganic intent. It is the force, to borrow from Yoda.

Awesome post Lonewolf with mostly useful insights from all concerned. I too feel that the difference between the old and new seers manifests on the acknowledgement of ones spiritual self and the path of heart. There is only love and truth, everything else is bullshit and food for the FI.
Comming from a space of only LOVE and TRUTH, and acknowledgement that you cannot have one without the other is the true battle of the warrior and the hearts path to self empowerment and freedom.
Acceptance of ones own Soveriegn Being and connection to spirit from within is our birthright, and the foreign installation can only have power if we feed that power by denying our right to 'BE' alongside all of creation. 'As above so below' is apropriate here, if your spirit is truly free then the multi dimensional part of you that is tonal must also be free.
If that is not the case then you only need to check the tonal to identify the point of bondage as there is no power in the multiverse that can enslave your spirit.
A 'New Seer' comes from the heart, using love and truth as the stalking intent, to identify descipancies within the whole being to strike at those discrepancies with perfect timing . Do not interpret the words LOVE and TRUTH as weak and fluffy, they can easily be as cold and hard as any aggressive word you can imagine. Sometimes tough love is required, and the truth can hurt. If one is intending to be impeccable then love and truth are your ally in stalking self and others. A New Seer will act for the highest good of all and not just oneself or the obsolete socially constructed bullshit that contaminates our power and hinders our spiritual evolution.
The real battle for the warrior, is adapting to, and integrating the rising vibrational changes and enhancing our spiritual and multidimensional connections to all aspects of the mulitverse, thus expanding the effectiveness in our seeing ability.

Jessica, you are correct. I think we both are correct and make valid observations. What you have shared brings dimension to what I stated. What I mean about drugs and money is...a person can not take up (avoid) internal discipline if they prefer the 'easy' results of getting high, and also, a person can turn towards worldly power and success and to be "recognized" in such a way as to feel they are powerful people, but at death they then have to face the stark reality that such power was not 'empowering' them as individuals...it was a ruse.

GPS as map
This weekend I was traveling to unfamiliar locations via my GPS and pondering the information being shared in the thread (primarily) between Bob May and Lex while I was driving.
I’d been giving the topic of the new and old seers my attention for several days. Both positions shared by Lex and Bob were shared expertly and with fine attention to detail and breadth of knowledge from their respective fields of study. Over and over though I kept thinking that they were involved in the very thing they were warning about and the metaphor that come to me was the use of a GPS for navigating unknown territory.
To begin with the GPS is a brilliant invention—a visual and auditory map to guide and provide direction in unknown territory. Sort of like dreaming. As long as I have a point A and a point B and the system itself has the internal layout of the land I am driving, then I can get anywhere the system has coded within its matrix. In other words, I input the desired end point, follow the directives, and eventually I arrive at my destination.
As I was driving along I had to be aware of several things—the length of kilometers and the visual distance that 100, 200 etc. kilometers actually is---if I turned too soon or too late due to the availability of multiple exit points within my kilometer range, I’d temporarily lose direction. Several times I forgot I was traveling with a GPS and the voice would direct for an upcoming change in direction and scare the **** out of me---I’d forgotten I was navigating by GPS! In other words, I was being subtly influenced by the GPS in order for me to use it effectively---not a bad thing but a thing to be aware of.
I soon realized that without the GPS I didn’t have a clue as to where I was—if that program had quit for some unplanned for reason—I would have been totally lost. I was navigating by a program that I was entirely dependant on. (As sorcerers are in dreaming). Then I began to realize that the GPS was designed to read manmade inventions—signs, highways, roads, turns, onramps, off ramps--in other words navigational systems that were laid down upon the land itself. I wasn’t really independently seeing or traveling the land per se but I was traveling on and in manmade manipulations that were designed to navigate on top of the land I claimed I wanted to travel. (How do we travel the unknown without known tools?)
The roads, the car, the GPS, the signs, the on and off ramps, were all tools for movement in order to “see” a new country. The GPS was my map. But at some point I had to turn off the map if I wanted to see what I claimed I wanted to see—which was the German countryside. Otherwise, it made no sense whatsoever to stare at the small GPS screen as though that, in and of itself, comprised the attainment of my intent (ie, to explore the unknown).
But here’s the weird thing---I was absolutely dependant on that system while also knowing that in the end the system was not the real deal! Yet, I had the awareness that the system itself would prevent me from getting where I wanted to go if I didn’t set it aside at some point and strike out on my own. Once I reached my end point, I’d better be prepared to stand on terra firma and start walking. Turn the GPS off and connect to the land.
So I wonder if the old seers got lost in their own internal GPS system and claimed that they’d arrived at their destination. Dreaming became their downfall. They had so fused the method with the mystery that they couldn’t differentiate the two. Mapping the territory can become the end point, as can discussing the map, or staring at a small onscreen navigational tool. When do we stop “mapping”, swapping maps, comparing maps, and simply start walking the unknown? Our maps, our navigational systems, our dreaming---all of it---is brilliant!! We’d be lost without them. At the same time, we must know when to turn them off and take a step into the unknown.

I am making it a thing to observe the way of the eagle. What you have said in your post has the feel of the eagle or what it might be like as one could fly with eagle's wings.
The new seer is to connotative the eagle.
The eagle has impeccable timing in mating and in rearing their babies to fly.
The female is very selective. An intimacy is found within the mating. The female knows the mate by dropping stones in mid flight as the male comes and catches the stone with impeccable artful lock of his talons. The female swoops into the male eagle locking talons all before approaching the earth.
In rearing their babies the babies are conditioned to stay on the edge. The nest is built is such away that the transition into flying is not drastic.

Well let’s look at this. CC talks about the “path with heart” but how do we get from there to that is what the old seers lacked...heart? I think I read that they were cold, calculating, morbid and sinister and manipulative just to name a few of their qualities. But how did they get this way? I don’t think they woke up one day saying I am not interested in path with heart I am going to be morbid and sinister instead.
I think if we listen to DJ we find the answer.
Most of the truths about awareness were discovered by the old seers, he said. But the order in which they were arranged had been worked out by the new seers. And without that order those truths were nearly incomprehensible.
He said that not to seek order was one of the great mistakes the ancient seers made. A deadly consequence of THAT mistake was their assumption that the unknown and the unknowable are the same thing. It was up to the new seers to correct that error. FFW Fire From With
So engaging the truths of sorcery but not caring about this order defined by the new seers leads to a tragic error concerning not knowing the difference between the unknown and the unknowable. The old seers lacked the “tools” of this art. And were probably not even aware of this lack. So what is it about this “order” of the truths of awareness that leads to a “path with heart”?

The Changes in Nagualism…Becoming a New Seer
With the vibrational shifts in place, and, the focus on bringing the ‘everything’ into harmony ,may I suggest that the ‘nothing’ becomes more important than ever before. After recent experiences with the Naguals collective consciousness. The time has arrived for the intention of the ‘nothing’ as the vital backdrop for the everything, to be known and integrated.
The past, both knowledge and techniques are changing, to fall in alignment with these bigger picture shifts, so that freedom of choice in the future can be present, for those who wish to experience that for themselves. It is not about us, this time round. If we don’t acknowledge the love/truth within the ‘everything’ and the place that the ‘nagual’ plays within the scheme of things, it maybe lost as another mass consciousness concept.
Its not that all the Naguals give two hoots for ‘humanity‘, I certainly don’t on some levels, but I am a freedom fighter for those to come, who may wish to experience anything they desire to create.
It is only my galactic contract, that holds me into ‘the path of heart’ I own that. The carrot for me, is that multidimensional existence can continue in all its glory, allowing me the freedom to reside where I choose, after this time is done.
That carrot is strong enough to pull, even the darkest being into renegotiating their contracts, for the highest good of all. Yes, all the spectrum of Naguals are in agreement, that this purpose is collectively important, despite personal agendas.
Thus the game changes, the tools and techniques are changing
One change noted and experienced, is the methods of ‘stalking’ and ‘seeing’, as the energy starts to flow in the opposite direction.
Receiving in, rather than extending or projecting outwards.
This is what people refer to as the return of the ‘divine feminine’ a balance of male/ female energies ..or in my terminology.. the black/white …electric/magnetic….light /sound…love/truth
Those like myself, who have always been able to see clearly, have to learn the new ways of doing things to be more effective in times to come.
(i'm sure the old ways may still continue to work but will be detectable and obvious, rather than subtle and discreet..therefore less effective)
Once needing to travel and actively stalk, the energies now show themselves despite sitting still. One only has to ask for that part of the “external” to be shown, as part of the “internal world of your whole universe” for it to appear if it is appropriate to do so.
There is stalking which is now totally internal and silent...I will formulate another post on this experienced change.
‘Seeing’ also becomes “now” orientated, rather than predictive…and why?, well.....
If one is not predicting or creating in the future, things cannot be sabotaged along the way. You learn to take your turn, within and for, the bigger picture.
Group energies using telepathy and united intent for change are also being called to form. These will affect the tonal. Each individual however must know and merge with every other member for this to be as clear as it requires to be…integrating each others energies so they become a silent mass consciousness of their own.
Forget leaking energy to those concepts that distract you, and focus.
Do not use old information as a recipe book for truth, but as the foundations of questioning your own knowing and gaining a direct link with Spirit and the nagual alike.
In times to come, it will be your links that will be vital to your intent filled actions, as it maybe confusing as to where you put your energies, as old methods may not work as before.
Meanwhile the process of deconstruction continues…empty yourself to be filled with purpose and warrior energy.
Society has long been trying to subdue this part of self.
See the everything for what it is…a creative playground.
To make your own choices about it, it requires for you to understand this.

If you don’t know what to focus on, then how can you expect others to keep clear and level headed?.
Those busy with their own battle for freedom, identify your threads of concept choice, that remain attached to the web of creation and drop off, like a spider from its web. Excellent analogy Jes.
The map analogy as all analogies only go so far, but let me show you a few ways that, in my own understanding, it became more clear. I was taught that the Bible was a "road map." What I was not taught was how it "Worked" as a map. I highlighted some of your statements in red.
Legitimate points which I will try to make clear as I understand them.

One thing that I found out was that I did not realise about the "map" was that it worked in 20/20 hindsight. First I would have an experience and only after an experience would I recognise that experience written in the "map." This would be analogous to your "standing on terra firma and start walking."
Long ago, probably before you were born, I was visited by an angel. I was sitting meditating in my chair and suddenly it was right there in front of me. White robed and hovering above the floor. The colors were "out of this world" and the word hovered is not well chosen because I could feel such strength there that I was sure that if it wanted it could have stopped the earth from revolving and pushed the sun out of it's course through the cosmos. It was made of light. The light was alive and conscious. There was no mistaking that. It stayed for a short time, put it's name in my mind and was gone.
Looking back on that experience as time went on I began to see that it was in both the bible and Qabala literature.
I first found it in the story of Jacob wrestling with an angel.
I had been having trouble for months when trying to meditate. I could not relax my left leg. There was an agravating feeling on the inside of my thigh that would not allow me to relax. Now days they call it restless leg syndrome.
The first thing that hit me was the phrase, "He halted upon his thigh."
It hit me that that was exactly what had happened to me. I had stopped my meditations. I had Halted.
I asked my teacher the next day whether I was reading that correctly. What had happened to Jacob was happening to me.
He said it was!
There are other things in the story that also made sense. Pieces to the puzzle, so to speak.
Jacob's name changed to Israel. That is a change in awareness. A person who experiences these thing in never again the same. Jacob's name changes to Israel every time he has a spiritual experience.
The "wrestling" is trying to understand what has happened.
The "breaking of day" is coming to an understanding or acceptance of what has happened.
These stories concerning the Patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph etc., are allegories that explain our own spiritual journey.
We are Jacob and Israel and Joshua, etc.
These characters described in allegory are a direct lineage to Jesus Christ on our way to Christ consciousness.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.

And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob.

In most cases where I recognised this happening it was After the experience. I like to call it 20/20 hindsight. I also like to call it "Finding myself in scripture." Because that is what it really is.
Later, I found in the Qabala (the study of the tree of life) that the first initiation, the "Spiritual Experience of the 10th (lowest) Sephirah on the Tree of Life. It is called "Vision and Conversation with the Holy Guardian Angel". Once again the idea of a roadmap seems to apply.
This same type of thing has happened again, later also but I used this example to show how it first began to dawn on me just what exactly what the "bible as a map" meant.
And it's funny, the next thing that happened (years later) was just a few chapters later in Genesis and it told me exactly what happened to me ten minutes before.

So many do think they have arrived. After 30 + years of knowing and studying some of these things, I feel like just a novice.

True, and the study of the bible is certainly that way for many people. They get one thing out of a verse and they think that is all it says. They miss more than they understand.

We never stop. We do both. We try to understand the maps and we explore. And sometimes we rest from one or the other or both.
My teacher didn't tell me everything. He let me find out things for myself. And he corroborated some things that I went through and some ideas and conclusions that I had come to. Otherwise it would just be words.
We have to learn by actually experiencing. Only that is true knowledge.
It is good to have someone corroborate what happens to you concerning spiritual things. That is what the maps are for. So that you don't think you are going crazy. But instead you see you are on the right (or wrong) Path.
Maps are made by those who have come before for those who will come afterwards.
It's the Hermit Tarot card. A lone man standing, looking into the unknown holding a lamp.
I hope this helps you understand a little better where I am coming from.

By the way, it occurs to me that a map of the unknown would have to be 20/20 hindsight.
We are talking about the unknown here.
Something beyond that person's experience could not be described in an understandable way.
It is only after the person has had the experience that he would be capable to look again at that description and recognise it as a description of that experience.
Before the experience the description is nothing more than symbols and words pointing into the unknown.
But by learning to trust the map by past experiences, that person loses all doubt that the map is pointing to Something.
