An unwanted lone wolf - Nagual LoneWolf - 10-22-2006 As I was riding today near the superstition mountain wilderness, I began to see signs along the dirt road I was on. "Found lost dog". On a piece of cardboard with red letters it was written. Soon I came upon a cabin and there was the same type of sign and it was posted on the home's rustic mailbox. A woman was walking along the edge of the settlement with a very large wolf on a leash. I stopped and said hello and asked her about the animal. She told me that the dog was more a wolf and I agreed. It was white and brown and had the head and feet of typical mexican wolf that are native to the area. The wolf was a female and she was quite tame while I was there. The woman was in her forties and was quite forth coming with information about how she found the animal. She said that her neighbors had come to her home in the middle of the night and thought that her dog was loose. They told her they almost ran over a dog down the hill that was just standing in the middle of the road. She told me she went down the road and found the wolf and brought it home for it just stood there next to the road and wouldn't move. She explained that she felt it had been dropped off and was unwanted. She said the wolf's nails were trimed and she was well fed but had a medical condition. She told me that her last dog had the same problem and that she knew about it from the previous experience. She explained it was incontinence and was unable to stop from leaking from its rear end. She had most likely some hip problems as well. The wolf was young looking and I felt bad for the animal. She came up to me and smelled my leg and I petted her. She had beautiful eyes and in them I could see a animal that cared not for its fate at the time. She had been abandoned and only her pack could make her happy. I asked the woman what she would do with the wolf. She said she had been ill but she would probaly take care of the wolf. I left and it came to me that the wolf had been found by the one person who could take care of her. The people who had left her there in the wilderness most likely thought they were giving her a chance to be a wolf and that she was unwanted by them and that is all they could do. In reality the shewolf would die quickly in the desert heat with no water and hungry packs of coyotes and mountain lions. Her scent would draw them like flys in her condition. The spirit took care of her and once more magic is worked in the wolflands. Lone Wolf An unwanted lone wolf - Guest - 08-21-2019 |
