Your album, being an act of war, demands a super-careful selection.
It is a precise collection of the unforgettable moments of your life, and
everything that led you to them. Concentrate in it what has been and will
be meaningful to you. A warrior's album is something most concrete,
something so to the point that it is shattering.
Sit down, alone, and let your thoughts, memories, and ideas come to
you freely. Make an effort to let the voice from the depths of you speak
out and tell you what to select.
The selection is not an easy matter. This is the reason I say that
making this album is an act of war. You have to remake yourself ten times
over in order to know what to select.
Don't include stories that relate exclusively to you as a person who
thinks, feels, cries, or doesn't feel anything at all. The memorable
events of a shaman's album are affairs that will stand the test of time
because they have nothing to do with him, and yet he is in the thick of
them. He'll always be in the thick of them, for the duration of his life,
and perhaps beyond, but not quite personally.
In my time, not only did I not know what to choose, I thought I had
no experiences to choose from. It seemed that nothing had ever happened to
me. Of course, everything had happened to me, but in my effort to defend
the idea of myself, I had no time or inclination to notice anything.
The stories of a warrior's album are not personal, not assertions
about you as the center of everything. You feel, you don't feel; you
realize, you don't realize. All of that type of story is just you.
The memorable events we are after have the dark touch of the
impersonal. That touch permeates them. I don't know how else to explain
this.

Blah! The Warrior's Album......you had to remind me. I am still in the phase where I feel that I have nothing to choose from, or at least I might be
mistaken and put in a personal story, thinking it is oh so significant.
So Morning Son, have you had any luck putting your album together? I wish I could sit in a cafe with Don Juan and have him poke or prod me to remember, tell me
what constitutes an appropriate story, all the while eating a big plate of shrimp.

I am been through two times since wolf made the broad...
Its deep powerful stuff to get into, but slowly my perspective of who I am is changing.
I challenge Warriors here to write at least one post to the album during this summer!

Yes I agree with Dreamgirl. i dont know really what would constitute something that is worthy of the album?
I remember reading FIGURES IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR from The Active side of Infinity.
That story to me was a bit supernatural in the sense that Carlos saw the lady shrinking as she danced.
I am not sure where to start from my own story...i am sure though that there is much there.
Any examples would be really helpful.
Also is this album the same as the recapitulation or is this a diff matter completely?

Watching the matrix for the first time tonight reminded me of this. It's hard to write it though as it involves a time of very personal drama for me. I was
in the middle of this drama when I was sitting in an art history class back in the 90's , the prof who was lecturing was a key element in the drama and he
clicked to the slide of the Venus of Willendorf statue and started talking about the men passing it on to their sons as a fertility item ets and suddenly
something jumped from that image into me and I stood up and told him "that's a she! , you keep saying he he he, that's a she!" Then I
left--there was alot more personal stuff and also after she jumped into me I experienced what I called Nirvana at the time (i think it was a small kensho more
accurate) for about 2 weeks. Shortly before the venus experience occured I was baking a cake and got 2 double yolked eggs which I felt was a sign. My mind was
way more quiet than it usually was during that experience and when thoughts did occur they were of different character than my normal thoughts were then --the
one I remember and why the matrix reminded me of this was the phrase "thought is the matrix" tha passed through my mind. I had no idea what that
meant then. I didn't smoke for those two weeks , didn't miss it or crave at all. This experience pointed me to new possibilities, made me more aware of
other realities. After the two weeks I remember trying to account for it rationally but not wanting a rational explanation to fit. Since then I've
expereinceed enough of the strange to know rational explanations for it are weak as are personal explanations.
ms, is this near what you had in mind?

I would suggest that you to look at it one more time and make the description more sharp.

See at the moment something jumped into you. Dig out more info. How did you body feel? etc To be able to use this experience you must really own it.
Next be more clear on what else happen. Which situations and how did your perceive and act differently.
Any dreaming at that periode?

yeah, I dropped almost my entire life 7 yrs ago
including tv and most movies. I've only been to the movies 2 x since then. Was over at my neighbor's when the matrix came on and decided to watch it.
For awhile I couldn't even watch movies, was interested in other things. I don't miss them. The scence of the people in those glass "wombs"
was very similar to a horrible dream I had back in the 80's.

NEVER push another to make something you say, nor challenge a fellow warrior that is wrong towards you and the rest a fertile field of growing self importance
comes from such endeavours.
Nagualism ... well it's about freedom, do you grant freedom to the rest of the members as it is granted to you?
A warriors album is not about the self, stories from the spirit not the ego. You are yet you are not there, it's not recapitulating understand?
I read C G Jung's autobiography that is a warriors album hidden in the personal life stories: one day he finds makes a lil puppet with soul makes it a
house from a pencase and buries it as a sacred item , later he makes a statue called atmavictu "breath of life" he is an old man by now he never
found a nagual teacher or maybe he did.

Freedom is not granted it is taken, PerSyd, that is why there is teaching about being a Warrior and not a farmer, a ruler or a consumer
A challenge can be accepted or declined. Right? Did I put up ANY concequence for declining? Naah
I love challenges as they spun man of to DARE give it a try and to do my best.
It seem to be mostly a male thing to do though.
Sometimes people need to have a poke in the back to get moving, thats not the same as constantly be on their back.

Not really Mornings Son, freedom not as the absolute thing the work of a lifetime for a sorceror/ess. Freedom to chose your path at your own time freedom to
understand when it is time to and time is chosen by the spirit not a human being. Wanna help somebody on they way stay out of their way: you reminded me the
story of Carlos and the snail he almost crushed with his boot, he gets down and putts it on a leaf. Then why Don Juan tell him that he is wrong? was the
snail's fate why did he stumble even in a small creature's fate? Maybe he was running from a poisoned bush ... who knows and call him arogant mortal
again.
Competitive is not necessarily a manly quality, some women are just as competitive as man in sports or business. That is good for a social cozy life but not
that good on a path of knowledge. You presume you know so much, this is not a sports competition the spirit does not care about human willing things lets all
do this ... Hmm sounds like let's make a new flock of beings with nagualic knowledge. Nagualism is about braking from the flock not making a new one.
Compete Mornings son in whatever you want but not on a nagualic board if you can understand why you have made a big step on the path of knowledge.

I might Mornings Son, when i feel the time, it is supposed to be written by intervention of the spirit. Call it inspiration, a moment of personal power however
you like. Yet if is still the same notion in the big picture. Sometimes i feel like writing to make a point or cause i have some other opinion on the thing
that the poster or i agree, i post when i have something to say, sometimes from 2nd attention like my story.

I like how Don Juan points out that we always get tricked by words and their meaning. Not only are people trapped by words and their meanings, they are also
trapped by those who Give words their meaning. History has shown that words mean, whatever man intends them to mean.
Who can call themselves free when they are slaves to meanings given to them? And if one really Studies the words and terms used today by governments, religions
and media, They would find out that these words and terms tell a very different Tale than the one they had previously thought they told.
Knowing that enables you to see through the matrix, and empowers you towards taking your freedom.
