Stalking Power - Wei Shan Yang - 11-26-2010

Stalking power.

What does that mean? Well, first I think it means many things
according to who the perceiver is. But at its most basic level, it is a description
of what we warriors do naturally. I believe if we recognize this is what we are
stalking, we can concentrate our intent this way.

So what is it to stalk power? What is power? I like the term
nagual. Here we have the tonal, the daily world, we know that the nagual is the
unknown, the unseen and the unknowable until it links with the tonal. We stalk
it via this link.

So, say you see something about yourself you don’t like…a
reactivity. You could say you stalk your weakness…the reactivity. But truly we
are geared to be optimistic, I believe. Deep down we are not seeking weakness,
but strength. The “weakness” is only the friction necessitating the desire for
power, which is the abstract, which is us. Social conditioning makes us human,
the abstract makes us more what we really are. And the more we stalk power the more
we become it.

How do we do it? Within intent and with the eyes. Social
perspective is a piercing gaze, it hones in on a target. It looks at the world
it sees and uses the rational mind memories to impute meaning derived from the
need to return to equilibrium. Such as, someone made you mad, you feel angry,
you seek retaliation, you look upon your target with a preditorial gaze. This would
be reactivity.

To stalk power is to say “I don’t like being this way, this
is not who I am supposed to be. What am I truly then?”

You gaze at the unknown, the unseen. You ask questions, you
beckon power to you, you are it. Your eyes encompass, soften, permeate the
environment. You do not see it until it arrives, and there it is!

Stalking Power - Gonzo - 11-28-2010

Assuming for the moment a purpose of stalking is to acquire power, what would one do with it?

Stalking Power - Gonzo - 11-29-2010

No takers, apparently. Interesting. Let's try a different tack.

I changed my avatar to be one of the clowns from "The Dark Knight", in which there is a person of power in the figure of The Joker. It's interesting to contrast that person with the figure of Jesus, or the figure of Buddha, or the figure of don Juan. Were they persons of power? And if so, how was that power demonstrated? (Healing doesn't count.)

Stalking Power - Nagual LoneWolf - 11-29-2010

What does one do with power? Smile...some save it and use it to change, some use it to affect the world around them, some use power to see, stalk and dream.

Stalking Power - Guest - 11-29-2010

I'd use power to change all my realities! I'd also use it to help protect others and to go exploring in search of untrampled territory. So many things to do with power and so little time. Good thing time is relative.

Stalking Power - Gonzo - 11-29-2010

@ NLW - Good answer.

The ones, of course, I was trying to draw into this were the ones who feel powerless, and therefore seek power to alleviate what they perceive as being a short-coming...that is, were they more powerful, they would not have the defeats and the problems in their lives that they have.

Stalking Power - Gonzo - 11-29-2010

So, Kao, do my statements apply to you, since you would change your realities?

Stalking Power - Guest - 11-29-2010

Well it sort of applies however I don't attribute my 'defeats' to a lack of power. I'm happy in the power department. I attribute my defeats to my lack of creativity and quick-thinking abilities. In life, I see everything as having the potential to be improved so technically, I am always in a position of 'defeat' status. However I chose to have fun with it and see each opportunity as a chance to improve my skills in that area. Guess I'm just annoyingly optimistic.

If I could change my realities I would align them all and douse the world with colorful slinkies ... that'd be my first mission. After that, who knows but I think most are capable of finding things to change... unless of course they're perfect then I assume they'd prefer not to change anything.

Sorry if I walked around the bush on that one. I think anyone with a power-complex may feel inclined not to respond to your prodding ... I'd be scarred you'd force me to look at myself critically if that was the case I know right, cuz you're such a sweetheart, hahaha

Stalking Power - Guest - 11-30-2010

Nice one A Siris, I like the idea of stalking power seen as an artform. Makes it seem kind of less primitive. Maybe even classy.

Stalking Power - Wei Shan Yang - 11-30-2010

What to do with power?

Its a joy to be with power, that's why I stalk it. Use it to see rather then be amidst the confusion. The world that contrasts it, the world where many have forgotten their power, supplies the incentive.

Stalking Power - lex icon - 12-17-2010

I see Jesus as depicted in the stories of the gospels as a person who spent his power seeking to align with powerlessness in this world. His impeccability was so acute he ended being executed on a cross suspended between heaven an earth, utterly powerless. From there he was scorned by so many as completely irrelevant. So irrelevant that even death ceased to stalk him! Then abandoned by death different possibilities presented themselves and in the words of Leonard Cohen he "slipped beneath your wisdom like a stone". For those able to sink with him the "beauty of his weapons" become apparent as does his influence and sovereignty in his field of expertise.
Ahhh but that is just one form of power. When you look in the Greek you see they have a much more comprehensive appreciation for the use of this word. In Greek there are 4 different words for power as there are for love.  http://www.lingvozone.com...e_id_to=8&word=power
I think in sorcery circles the word energy is more appropriate for how we tend to use the word power.

Stalking Power - Wei Shan Yang - 12-18-2010

Yes, energy, absolutely. Well put : )

Stalking Power - Guest - 12-20-2010

it seems to me there is a funny thing about power....

once you have a certain amount of it, you don't care about using it for anything... it just moves through you. this is a suspicion of mine, at least - based on small gains. i know, for instance, that the more power/energy i have, the more "in sync" i am with the unknown... my dialogue stops and things are clear and it is nearly like dreaming. there is no desire, so nothing happens except for that as long as this lasts, i am letting something much bigger than me work through me. the more energy i have, the less i think about it. i dont care what happens with it because its not my place to care - its not really my power, anyway.

Stalking Power - Turin Otzaki - 12-20-2010

"And that power which the disciple shall covet is that which shall make him appear as nothing in the eyes of men".

Light on the path

Good description of the "feeling" of power Mothsdream.

Stalking Power - ninth octave - 01-08-2011

Just saw this reply Lex...
" Walk With Me"/ Neil Young  is playing on demand right now as I write. It is a new song from Neil Young ! these  lyrics could have this same intention as Cohen's. A powerless power united could be a great force to reconcile with.
Now to be on the same wave length ( as silent knowledge) with all peoples would be powerful.

I agree, great description...just saw this.
To me it seems that this is just the way it is...to have power means to be in a space where there is no desire to use it...which sort of trumps all the old fears and beliefs that techniques had to be kept secret or would be misused.  It would seem that nature has its own fail-safe built in.
Another such example is seeing others and the only thing one can have when they do is a high level of love for them.

we use power for the nagual, for freedom, to help ourselves and our warrior party ...

Stalking Power - Sedna - 03-20-2011

Can you describe that (in real life practice) please?

You stated one uses power FOR freedom.  You did not say for SEEKING freedom.
What do I seek?  Right now I am seeking examples of real life experiences of stalking others that show it working.  Isn't seeking freedom reserved for slaves?

Sedna, why do you wish to know if stalking others is working?
Isn't seeking freedom reserved for slaves? - Sedna

Freedom has to be earned, its not a given. If it were a given none of us would be here, we'd be out being free. We would not need Castaneda's teachings, or Don Juan or Toltecism, or nagualism; if freedom was handed to us on a silver platter we would not need anything, would not need to act or do or change a single thing. Slavery or captivity or fixation of the ap or any name you prefer to call it provides the incentive to walk the path that is of the warrior's quest for knowledge and its central focus is to be free from all the mis-knowledge in the universe.
So I take it that you don't have any real life experiences of using power for freedom.
Btw, fwiw, slavery is not a given either.

Stalking Power - Nu Lang - 03-23-2011

Possibly the most ironic statement uttered on this forum.

I have posted so many expereinces here on this forum about this very thing. Sedna, I can't make you see that. But just so you know, I consider virtually all my personal experiences I share here just that very thing of freedom, and how I see through the eyes of a warrior rather then the other option for humans which is conditioned responses taught to during childhood and also which are experienced it the world by adults who still carry their conditioning around with them and use it to react to situations out of habitual perception.

And its funny you have been targeting me on this subject. I think of all the members at this forum, I most of all share my experiences as a means to illustrate the contexts of nagualism and sorcery and how they have impacted my own understanding and use. Read Ra King thread. It has lots of personal experiences, and it is about freedom... Perhaps not your cup of tea, but I'm an innovator. I don't follow CC to exactness, I take my understanding and make it new, but still within the basic knowledge passed along.
