Critical nagualism - scout1 - 07-08-2012 Is about the only narrow strip of awareness left.. to grow it up again with ones life/discipline... the dreaming/energy body is miraculously back, only when one has the unbending intent... Don Juan supposedly called the Flyers "guardians of the chicken coop"--explaining that we are the Flyers' "chickens." They devour our awareness like we do chickens. "Our awareness should cover our whole luminous egg like a plastic, transparent cape. The flyers, however, have eaten our awareness down to around our toes." (Florinda claimed that when she first heard this, she thought, "Big deal, they just eat our toes.") When she would tell don Juan her dreams he would say "Amorcito" (which she knew meant she was in trouble), "Don't bother to tell me your dreams, because you're just talking from your toes." Once our level of awareness rises, perception grows. "Awareness rises through discipline--ruthless efforts with your self to eradicate egomania--the I, I, I, and the me, me, me. All the awareness we are capable of at 'toe level' is self-reflection." Critical nagualism - glance left - 07-08-2012 It's awful, true...if one resigns oneself to simply giving up to this reality (which is only one way of looking at it, if you ask me...but then again, who' asking lol) But more importantly, it's very hopeful....the simplicity of our situation. Its more than possible to recover ourselves and be on our merry way. The sustained effort required for this is no different than the sustained effort to learn/master anything in this life (even gaming! lol)...its just that the emphasis is different. Whereas most of our attempts to master something revolves around the "me, me, me"...which curls our fibers of awareness inward around the idea of the self which distorts/stunts our perspective and limits our power...the warriors way directs these efforts of mastery outward and into infinity...which more than returns the favor btw. Its worth it! The best deal ever, y'all Its a simple shift of perspective. Instead of focusing on something which makes us miserable....the self....we focus our awareness out there into the infinity that perennially surrounds us...and do it with affection. And, amidst this, the true self emerges...and shines, slowly but surely Critical nagualism - Guest - 08-21-2019 |
