Post-Flyer Stress Disorder - Death Defier - 02-11-2010 From the Active Side of Infinity: "That's the day when you have to rely on your own devices which are nearly zero. A sad day indeed! There's no one to tell you what to do. There's no mind of foreign origin to dictate the imbecilities you're accustomed to. "My teacher, the nagual Julian, used to warn all his disciples," don Juan continued, "that this was the toughest day in a sorcerer's life for the real mind that belongs to us. "The sum total of our experience after a lifetime of domination has been rendered shy, insecure, and shifty. "Personally, I would say that the real battle of sorcerers begins at that moment. The rest is merely preparation." Post-Flyer Stress Disorder - Nagual LoneWolf - 02-12-2010 Thank you for this reminder. Indeed its the getting up and returning back into the world. Post-Flyer Stress Disorder - Hawkeye Crow - 03-21-2010 This is an important consideration. One is not only faced with falsehoods and personal failures, but hardly any among average human beings can speak of it, or even consider it; this is the absolute aloneness of the warriors way. Society, 'the world', considers any criticism of its totality as madness. Truth: the truth is that the way of life, today, is not the only way of life. There are other, and better way (and worse, for those who choose wrong). And, considering the dilemmas mankind faces in the near future, making a new choice is the only option. I might give direction from what don Juan is to have said, loving the thing that gives us shelter and life: this Earth, and its environs. May we move beyond mere mortality. Post-Flyer Stress Disorder - Hawkeye Crow - 03-28-2010 I posted DD's opening on another forum. This is a reply to that, followed by my reply to cheyenne. mailcheyenne@... wrote:>>>> "The sum total of our experience after a lifetime of domination has beenrendered shy, insecure, and shifty.>> "Personally, I would say that the real battle of sorcerers begins at thatmoment. Havinglost hope of ever returning to the source of everything, the average man seekssolace in his selfishness. The thrust of the warriors' way is to dethroneself-importance. And everything warriors do is directed toward accomplishingthis goal.>>>>> *I agree with some of the realizations above, Joe, but I think that suchstatements are not seen as literal and get lost in what mind thinks is metaphor.Faith, for instance, is a clear path to hell. I often try to respond to yourposts but can't find anything in me that can slide into doing so withoutjudgment rising. And so you are my teacher each time you post. I really like youand notice that I do and yet you make it difficult for some reason. And so Iknow you are me, a perfect reflection.>> There is no post-flyer syndrome. Without the "flyer" the world is not inexistence.>> When I experience the delusion self I am as shifty I concurrently smell anopportunity of expansion but also experience that I am willing to stupidly superioritize myself in the most obvious and arrogant of acts - service tovictimhood...via the great sin of man, "helping." It is the unconditional embrace of the meaningless mystery that only gets us anywhere and yet you seem to subtract the tyrant that takes a victim? That is the same thing that got us where we are.>> There is a reason for the term, "place of no pity," or the term one of mygreat teacher's prefers, "the high indifference.">> I'd mention that after 10 years of working directly with "the assemblage" the above is one of the best descriptions I've heard of it. But the cost to shift it truly IS "faith," IS thinking one is not shifty, IS false beliefs about spirit and god and all the other bullshit the egoist spouts off as 'real.'>> Waking up does not entail making imaginal things real. It is thecounter-opposite of that. There are no fairy realms in Reality, no NativeAmericans, and no such thing as scarcity. A tyrant is equal to its victim and neither of those objects exist in Truth.>> There is no such thing as spirit. It is only that we make up such things inorder to hide behind and avoid sobriety. There is nothing but you here and where you are missing, where we are all missing, is that we don't see that. We are lost in knowing. There is no tyrant beyond the one we dream of as apart from ourselves.>> Thanks for being in my dream, I really like encountering you.>> Cheyenne> Well let me see if I can answer all this. The Flyer, as well as other CC stories, and Indian thought, is legend, lore, or some of it is , anyway. Seems as good a way as any to explain the inexplicable ,to me. The factual description of Flyers a 'the False Mind', however we get it ,rings true; how else to explain the idotic, pathological things people do? Stopping the World is, however , a real activity. One steps out of all conceptions and beliefs, opening to mental flexibility and new possibilities. It can be shocking and disorienting. For me, this becomes the contemplation of Infinity (eternity in the Christian dogma). One time I shifted, and all the cars on the street became as alien to me as a UFO, for about 30 seconds. Faith: it is not blind. It is a result of personal experience, unique to the individual. I have had such experiences, shockingly so, leading me to seek answers, seeking that has led to many other questions. This is know as Metaphysics. Anyhow, as an example, we experience a sunrise, so we have reasonable Faith that it will happen again.Spirit: Science has proven that behind the existence of matter, is Energy. Howodd to find the same views expressed by the Nagual, don Juan, who, it would appear, developed a talent to sense it. Before the modern era, at least in the Americas, spirit was a given, as native to the environment as the air, and just as invisible (and we all have faith in the air we breathe!) Its workings are a system, as everything in our universe is a system, with its own laws and properties.Interesting comment about the egoism of 'helping'. This of course is what white peolple did when they set about to 'civilize' the Indians. This seems to be about false perceptions leading to false actions. Rendering true service should be uplifting for all involved, with no sense of paternalism. When don Juan talked of sweeping clean the 'table' of the Tonal, leaving only the essentials, I interpreted that as a system for making oneself able to make competent decisions, free of bias. I have mentioned previously that research has proven 'eyewitness' testimony to be unreliable. This is proof that our predjudices, whatever they may be, shape our perceptions so that we do not truly See (hmmm). One other thing which I guess is in the realm of faith. I have found that the mere acceptance of the possibility of a thing, makes it come alive, at least if there is anything likely to occur. I apply this to Dreaming. Until CC, it never occurred to me that dreams had any usefulness at all. Now I see that my dreamsare indeed an alternate world, in a sense like a movie or TV; in the days beforesuch tech, what else did people have? storytelling, legends and ritual, ofcourse. Anyhow, I have learned a few real-time insights this way, as well asexperiencing unusual events.Yes, I guess the Flyer does make our world. Maybe that's just the problem. Makes me think of that Christian (Paul, I believe) admonition, be not conformed to this world, not this one nor the Roman world either. Now that's fluidity!
