This is an advanced Phowa practice. The individual does not die at all, but his or her physical body gradually disappears for an external observer[30], while being able to exist and abide wherever and whenever is pointed by one's will.This sounds familiar to what DJM and his party did. I rather like it; down to earth, not a lot of doctrine, just practices to learn, not unlike what is here. There were also descriptions of extraordinary persons that seemed more believable than what I learned of Hindu belief, which seems to imply that a monastic life of rules (legalism) will lead to the Astral, and back, if the illuminated so chooses.
