I like stuff that does not suck - Senear - 03-08-2017

I like stuff that does not suck. I never really liked def leopard because, well, the more well-known songs are slow and lame. But some of the older ones kick some monkey arse. So they deserve a place in the hall of not sucking. I didn't even start liking rock music till i was in my late 20's. I listened to nothing or R&B or classical. So im a late bloomer. And its all good now.

Lady strange is a good jam too.

Nice! Deep cuts, 80's rock

How about some deep cuts 70's rock?

I like stuff that does not suck - Senear - 03-09-2017

ha yea that's a good one too

Why should we limit ourselves to only liking things that don't suck? The following songs are very likable, and it's hard to argue that they don't suck.

( self-stalking moment: Do I argue against every premiss?  )

80s music, my jams! I love the boat scene with the women having tea. One white, wearing black; one black, wearing white. Both enjoying a wonderful drift through a sandy desert. Who says Senear is limiting himself to enjoying only things that don't suck? I'm sure he enjoys things that suck too. I assume most of us men enjoy things (rather, women) that suck. To include things that don't suck seemed to be very open minded of him.

I could never choose between Cyndi Laper and the Culture Club.

Here's one from the days when rasslin' was still real.

This next video comes from a play. The storyline at this point is that the star talent hasn't showed up yet, so this is an attempt to stall for time. The woman who keeps looking out the window is anxious, hoping the real star arrives soon. I haven't actually seen the play, so take all that with a grain of salt. What appears obvious though is that she fails to appreciate Glenn Miller's orchestra performing the song big band style, Tex Avery putting a bit of a lounge style spin on it, and Dorothy Dandridge and the Nicholas brothers tap show, any of which could have qualified for the finale of a concert back in that day.

Key message here

The "real star" is right in front of my face....a peerless, unpredictable, adroit orchestra playing right underneath my nose from one moment to the next....and I miss it when I'm not paying attention...when I'm not silent and aware, projecting forward and backward or to either side....anywhere but here where the good stuff is happening.

Agreed Glance, that image of the woman looking out the window with annoyance can be a powerful reminder when we find ourselves slipping out of the now.
Here's a couple more videos that may or may not suck.

The way I see things: the patrons of Sorcery are masochistic (and some are sadistic).

JJ: demands constant recognition of authority.  He believes he makes a difference and feels some sense of responsibility for keeping order.  Yet, he always feels compelled and drawn to Kao; the replies, attention, and correction.  He treats her like a pet.  A very disobedient pet he struggles to live without.

billy: belittles Kao in an attempt to win love and affection.

Watergaze: tries to treat Kao fairly, to do right by her and the site.  Personally, I think Kao took advantage by moving too quickly just to rock the boat.

Senear: often worked to balance the tug-of-war between opposing parties.  Often returning to Watergaze's side because that is what true love looks like.

Serloco: loved Kao, whether or not he admits it.  Personally, his visualization techniques (the sexual ones) are what lured Kao to be kind to him and not take advantage of him in the same manner of others.  She was nice to him, which tells me she likely loved him in a different way than she loved any other at Sorcery.  She created a space, invested in him, and gave him her time and energy to support him in a way that was different than others.  He made her laugh and was real, but not cruel.  He was delicate with her and she noticed.

Wolf: he attempted to bust a move, but got busted in the face by Kao.  In all fairness, she did help strengthen his people and his site; so there's that.

Rosy: is probably gay at heart.  He has learned to tolerate Kao; and she likes him for this.

Kao: is a fucking manipulative ****.  Why anyone would love her enough to give her attention is probably because she's occasionally funny.  The effort is visible, if she could just learn some self-control and use a filter her success rate might increase.

My advice: everyone get a life and have some fun.  If THIS is the space for fun, ya'll need a wake-up call.  If this is a space for spiritual liberation and enlightenment, humanity is in deep-****.  If this is the place for friends: I could think of no better place  We all seek to waste time, to find new ways of thinking, to use new eyes to see the world in a way that doesn't make us writher in pain from the spiritual starvation we face on a daily basis.  You're right, the world is a cold place.  I know why we're all here.  Why I'm here.  The world is warmer near bonfires.

I often feel like the man in this video.  That girl though--and those eyes--I need a wife like her.

"Hey hey everyone I'm enjoying this thread. It does not suck."

Can you be clear given your swath of experience? .. it sucks.  Right?
Or, do you have a conflict with such a trivial matter?

There is no need for semantics (or a thesis).. step away.. see this objectively.

So ya know..  I utilized your first comment to display facetious resentment.  I mean, many of my threads were sent to oblivion by the moderators.  Senear's deserves oblivion just for the title alone- 'I like stuff that does not suck.'

Post your ideas, Alone. I'm just kidding around because I've become complacent.  I'm not looking for an exchange.

My bad.
