There are seven gates to dreaming. Once all gates have been reached then the dreamer becomes the dream. So to speak.
Remember intent? It is with intent and energy the warrior enters each gate of the second attention to finally reach the third attention. The second attention is the world of dreaming.
Where the warrior begins his quest.
Where it all starts. A stalker is born from stalking the second attention in the first attention.
To begin:
Set up dreaming. When you say as an example that you enter a forest where there is a tree that is larger than the others.
Your task is to become "aware" your in a dream. Use the tree as the first starting point of your dream awareness. Begin to inventory other elements in the dream. When you begin to fade from the dream return to your starting point..the tree. Then begin again if you can. Look at your hands as Carlos did or find something else you brought from the first attention with you into the second attention.
Use intent to have your dreaming body remember this tree. Then when you can dream again remember the tree as you fall asleep and intent to go to the dream/tree again.
A warrior uses intent to build such awarenesses into his dreaming body.
I use a tree as and example. It can be anything. A village. A former home. A person. Etc.
The First Attention..normal waking perception.
The Second Attention...dreaming with awareness.
The Third Attention..perception of both attentions at the same time.
Remember each gate is an wall you must cross.
We will discuss more on the gates as we go.
Save your questions about the other gates until you master the first one.
