Hi SSil
I guess there is some sorcery here, as I saw MY name heading this thread.
I am Hawkeye Crow, I've been away for some time , thanks to the control freaks at Microsoft.
Greetings to Nagual Lonewolf, whose name took me a moment to remember.
I see things have changed here yet again. My life has changed as well, for the better , really.I am now a 65 year old retiree , moving into a new , slower way of living.
During the interval of my absence, I have learned more about the true sorcery, that is, the power beyond human understanding; ie what we call the environment. I might call it an energy that was here long before us naked apes, and will be here long after we are gone.
I stumbled upon Edward Abbey and Earth First! , white folk who embodied the holiness of our Grandmother Earth as the original residents of this America saw it, and were willing to take action for the same love and respect of Her. There is so much more to this. Don Juan stated that unless there is a change among human thought, we are doomed. Greenpeace says the same thing.
The industrial revolution, and the greed and self-importance it made possible will be the end of us all. Resource extraction, today it's Fracking, yesterday it was mining of the Holy lands, will poison the land, as it did the Ohio River, where I grew up . Rivers caught fire there, as the tap water does today in Pennsylvania.
This is not necessarily about politics; it's about survival, which , I do believe was a Nagual teaching. Perhaps the difference with me is that I see it as a Collective effort.
Surely, the villages that gave us the Shamen were not about individuality; they were about all the people. They lived both prosperity and poverty together. There were no gated communities on the east side of town.
Speaking of retirement, it brings up the dream I had some years ago: that, WORK is a scam. When Columbus came to these shores, his purpose was to take slaves among what he saw a the lazy natives, and make them WORK for his profit! Such slavery is now the norm. Think about that! Think about the Don Juan who did not have to 'work' , but drew his life from the energy of the land. A man like that was not stupid; he had knowledge and training that made it possible.
That's it: another way of living , another way of thinking and being.
Well, I'm not anti-political, and will act, in the present American manner as I see fit. Maybe this rant gives you an idea of what I'm about. If Don Juan can wear a suit and visit his accountant, I can at least manage life in this sick society as I have to.
I have exhausted my thoughts for now. I must go, as my animal familiar shows signs of illness and I must see to it.
