An introduction
#1
Hey all,

Pretty excited to find this forum
I guess I'll keep it pretty short.

I started in to spirituality when I was 12, I'm 24 now. Ironically enough my first experiences were mostly revolved around lucid dreaming, which solidified a belief of this reality not being the only one you can experience fully. Mostly for the fact that it blew my mind how real the lucid dreams felt. I could remember them as clear as any awake memory, so different from any regular dreams I've had (which I remembered fuzzy and in pieces). I say ironically because I stopped lucid dreaming in exchange for an obsession with trying to find a "better, stronger way" to achieve what I wanted. The obsession lasted over a decade and by the time I was done I had absorbed every bit of knowledge I could find on the topics of spirituality, shamanism, magic, psychoactives, and grew to have a solid understanding of "spiritual theory".

The cool thing was that every thing eventually fit together like a giant puzzle piece and truth became my best friend. I could see that friend in every religion, every scripture, every story.. For some reason he likes to hang out with a dick named Bull ****, but over the years Truth helped me to ignore that bastard ;D. I'll spare you the details of my studies, attempts, failures and successes. In the end I've learned a lot but am now at a point where every sign pointed to the astral, the lucid, the dream world.

Basically I took over a decade to realize I need to re-learn something I already knew how to do. It's great that I'm a lot better equipped mentally to take this journey then I was when I was 12, but my old techniques of lucid dreaming aren't working for me now lol. Kind of sucks, it was really easy at one point when I was younger, but I have forgotten the feeling of a lucid dream way too much. I used to do reality checks all the time, regular basis, and that worked great since I didn't have much to care for. Now I run a business and support myself and my girlfriend financially, meaning that while I do still dedicate time to my spiritual practice, I get too lost in planning and working to keep doing reality checks.

I'm thinking I need to try a more direct technique than waiting for my mind to accidentally get in to the habit. This time I'll have to intend it to happen.
