the way I see it at the moment is that we will ban sock puppets, but if they pop up connected to a member of the site that member will be warned and if he or she does not heed the warning they will probably be banned. Why? Because they are wasting the time of the Admins and/or Moderators (who need to check the IPs and ban + inform the sock puppet account etc). And going against the new policy.
FYI, I have not banned anyone, ever, so I am just assuming an info message can be attached to the banning. if not I dont know if I will be writing every sock puppet an additional why you were banned pm. Maybe I will give one moderator this wonderful task if needed. Or maybe the sock puppets will just be banned, period. It is the duty of every member of the site to inform themselves of our rules and guidelines.
