So now we have a DNA molecule with one side made up of four groups of letters and the other side made up of four groups of letters. Rule number 1) C on one side is always paired with G on the other side and G on the one side always pairs with C on the other side. Rule number 2) is the same as rule number 1) only we replace C and G with T and A. Now both sides line up like rungs on a ladder with either position a C-G, a G-C, a T-A, a A-T rung. From this we have a code to create proteins that are the basis of our bodies.
