I probably should have reread that tale before making an analogy. What I remember of it was the p.p leading the townsfolk out of their town to somewhere unknown to them.
What I am alluding to is having a sense of who you are dealing with and been aware that the price for any affiliation might be destructive to ones well-being.
To me the p.p is someone who leads others astray. I will need to adjust my memory of the tale.
No need for me to worry about 'been cursed in a big way' as he already did that. He will eventually have to account for his words.
