Playing Reggae music, on bass, is a great way to REALLY get the soul of playing the bass. It'seresting to note that modern Reggae music owes its popularity to the advancement of stereophonic technology.
It is the the only popular modern music where the bass is absolutely the foreground instrument.
In hip-hop music it is the bass DRUM that takes the foreground, not the bass guitar.
Back in the 1960s when stereo equipment was in its infancy bass response was not very important because you couldn't really hear it.
I remember the first stereo we got. You couldn't really hear the bass at all.
Now, even the smallest of equipment has rather decent bass response.
I don't have any videos of me performing. Now that I'm retired from professional performing
I only play when I want to and...well...I simply don't want to that often.
