IT SEEMS TO ME that the Archon mind wants mankind to think of the Gnostics as people who were basically wrong, period!
The Archon mind DOES NOT want you to think for yourselves. The Archon mind wants to do ALL YOUR MOST IMPORTANT THINKING for you!
Supposedly, Gnostics was a connotation placed upon THE EARLY CHRISTIANS who believed in direct communion with the Divine rather than through church intermediaries.
The Archon mind, apparently, wants you to believe that you are a little, insignificant nothing in the big scheme of things, and you desperately need OFFICIAL AUTHORITY FIGURES
to tell you what is true and what isn't. That being the case the Archon mind will go out of its way to crush all growing opposition to that overall agenda.
