I was meditating in that little chapel yesterday at the hospital where I work....which, when I emerged from it, seemed kind of a sleepy meditation period....really had a hard time holding focus, I felt so so tired! All day yesterday, so tired! But, you posting here brought back a very clear vision I had during that session that I had intended to remember to post but promptly forgot amidst the following fatigue. And the vision relates to the the quoted conversation above...the solution being the intent for survival in terms of quality of awareness in spite of the sense of pending doom, that was inherent in Rosy's post..which is what I tried to respond to there, but not sure if I got anything across. In the vision, I saw this gorgeous orb of light, like a crystal ball light from within....intense blue-white light...suspended in front of me. And, as I watched it, it withdrew a bit and the perspective opened up so I could see what it was attached to. It was what a statue of a woman , the figure head, was holding on the prow of a huge clipper ship...arms out in front of her holding this orb of light...the rest of the boat behind was visible but only barely...all of it silhouetted in shadow behind the orb of light. The light was the force guiding the way. Also, I could see this writhing reddish light mounting up like waves beneath the ship too. I looked down and saw what the writhing motion was. The ship was cruising along on top of a chaotic, glowing, red sea of squirming demons...taloned arms and legs and tails and ghoulish faces....the bow of the ship mounting a wake of them to each side, roiling about, as it passed over and through them. The demons couldn't get to those on the ship because the ship was moving froward strongly and riding high on top of them. But if the ship stopped....well.....you get the picture!
So the mood is of survival...but not a scrabbling desperate mood of survival. It's of a light, buoyant, even humor-ful mood of survival that laughs at ourselves and our tendencies to place a morbid spin on things....remembering DJ having CC sing that silly, assinine song in front of the vision of the death defiers who were putting him into a morbid trance with the repetitive motion of their behavior...and the ridiculous song broke the spell.
