Yes, the other side of you (your second attention) does lack destructive ego. And I too have experienced my name as being far away. In fact, you bring up an interesting point. When I started sorcery, unbeknownst, way back before I read Castaneda, I began getting a sensation that my name did not seem 'correct' for me. That sensation has increased over time. I would say it increases in direct proportion to how much of the human form one loses.
Seeing one's double can happen straight away to some people. As with anything, talent is individual and can facilitate certain aspects of sorcery with great ease, while others remain harder to acheive. Much like with any learning experience in any field.
And now: back to your regularly scheduled (de)programming...
