I believe that people live up to there names. But also that our names will change according to our awareness.
I did not like my name until I found out what it MEANT.
I've always gone by my middle name: Robert or Bob.
It has both positive and negative meanings as many names do. "Man of Renoun", "Bright in Fame", "Bright Flame".
Man of Renoun has a very shady meaning.
In the Bible, the Men of Renoun are the offspring of the "Fallen Angels" and the "Daughters of Men". God was "Wroth" (very angry) because of that event.
So, I don't give that meaning any power over me. I choose instead to look at it as "Bright Flame".
My entire name, first, last and middle means: "Bright Flame, Dwelling in the Valley of Illusion".
I think that that is a good name to try and live up to.
It is also true. This is a "Valley of Illusion".
I am surrounded by the darkness like everyone else here, but, at least occasionally, I have been allowed to stand at the opening of the cave to glimpse what lies beyond in the light. At times, I have been abl to share that light with a few of my fellow "cave dwellers".
That's a good thing.

Jacob, in the Old Testament had many spiritual experiences with God and angels. Each time this happened to him his name changed from Jacob: (the supplanter) to Israel: (Power with man, Power with God). This new name was given to him by an angel whom he "wrestled til the breaking of the dawn", and then demanded a blessing from. He earned it!
In the book of "Revelation", in the New Testament" those who overcome are given a "New Name". They also earned it.
Good luck on your new name, but first do some research on your old one. You may find that it suits you and that you may have to earn a new one.
