That's one way to see it, sure. I recognize me seeing your curses as being weak (in general, I see curses as an intellectual weakness because there are other things, smaller things, to be done before magic is used) is a reflection of my sight.
I use magic as a last resort. You seem to use it as a first resort.
Yes, that is a difference between us.
To say which is better is largely dependent on how a person sees, sure.
I did read somewhere where you said you were moving out. That seems a wise decision if he's not a person you mesh with. However, there's value in finding a way to salvage challenging relationships. Learning to be mundane in your resolutions (without magic) gives you more diversity. There may be times when magic is unavailable to you; if that is what you know, then your knowledge in other realms will be limited.
I'm not saying you're weak-sauce. I'm saying there's a larger picture to see. How does the quick-fix help you long-term? It doesn't.
I'm also not bringing you a curse. I haven't cursed anyone in this lifetime. An achievement I'm very proud of What I'm trying to do is open your mind to other ways of doing and seeing. Not that your way is wrong, but it's useful to have a variety of methods to fall back on....in case one fails.
