So I downloaded a whole wack of herbal textbooks to read. I am half way thru history and pharmacology of herbs. I have three more to go on the pharmacology aspects. Its very in depth. I am learning a lot about chemistry and biology. I love learning. I can now read pharmaceutical tests and understand some of what they say. I think I will likely learn more about chemistry too and more about the production of drugs. I see how mature is so adept at creating chemical structures that aid life. Its been doing it for ages. We, as modern chemists, are babies compared to mother nature. There is just so many combinations of atoms, and we have barely begun to touch upon this art. I find mother nature provides us with so many expert arrangements that already exist in nature. Take Asprin for example. Comes from the willow tree. Its is already a perfect glutamic acid antagonist. WHich means it blocks the receptors in the brain of pain. HOw did nature come up with that for us!!?? Its so amazing. Morphine too. So many natural and amazing chemicals. Much of nature is uncharted too. Every plants has its own spirit, its own host of molecules. Some with hundreds of active ingredients. What will we find the more we dig?
