Yes but burning from within has nothing to do with telepathy activating it. Well maybe it could, but that seems like a long shot.
Starting from the premise that everything we perceive is just the emanations of an Indescribable Force, the only way I can explain telepathy is... like a million people driving around a city in their cars, and they can't even see or hear each other but they're all potentially at least listening to the same radio station.
