I hear you. I agree it's better to love and loss than to miss the opportunity entirely. This is why I've learned to love from afar. If people don't know you love them then there's less for them to miss. Unless, you know, they feel it. There are some things one can't hide from others. Haha, that's the danger of hanging around psychics--can't hide emotions lol.
Your reasons for putting down roots make sense for your situation. I don't know why they don't make sense for my situation; I mean, I like your perspective as it's healthy and reasonable. Heck, maybe that's why I've never undertaken it (because it's healthy and reasonable), lol. Seriously though, I guess maybe where I see a difference is not in the "method" but in the "application". I won't put down roots with regard to others, but I will put down roots in myself. I'll invest in myself because I can take myself everywhere I go. I can't always take others with me and so putting down roots in places that are not-me doesn't seem reasonable. Like growing plants in another's garden--if you're very close, then yes. If not, then it's weird. Or maybe it's okay to put down roots in another if what is being planted is what's desired.
I guess my issue is that I'm an eccentric horticulturist and I recognize that what I offer isn't appropriate for most. To be respectful to gardens that are not mine, I often refrain from planting anything with roots. That seems to make more sense.
For you, you plant bonsais. Symbols of peace and serenity. Hence, you can plant those everywhere and people tend not to mind. Most of my plants are things like the Venus fly trap. My expertise is less popular in the realm of gardening. However, I wouldn't mind learning more about bonsais. I've invested my energy into understanding the plants no one else wants to understand; because I know what it's like to be misunderstood. I have an appreciation for the garden variety death dealers. We each have our specialties. What drew you into bonsais? What about them appealed to your spirit? You had the option to pick any species and you chose the bonsai to build residual income--low maintenance beauty is obvious, but other species can fit that description.
