Being the appropriate gourd. One of the more beautiful moments of second attention power was had with a luminous, gigantic blue butterfly. This dark, violent being accosted me, lurching my up by the collar from the boardwalk of a market bizarre held in a warehouse and slammed me against the wall, about 30 feet in the air. Something within rallied and stabilized and, instead of fighting back, I became absolutely impassive and gazed into its boiling face and eyes without fear and smiled with detached compassion. At that point, it simply dissolved away, losing its impetus and gently lowering me to the walkway below.
Afterwards, I laid down with the rest of the Romani who were camping there in my sleeping bag and, just before I slipped into sleep, a glowing blue morpho butterfly fluttered down and landed on my left eye and melted into my head. It was an exquisite moment...I will never forget it. Deep appreciation for butterflies ever since, of course
Deep appreciation for access to that central state of awareness that flies above the fray. I pray that I remember and progressively adhere to that state, no matter how often I stray or forget
