That's why your response, when you asked, was a maybe. You have the desire to live a normal life (as normal as anyone has)--one without access to power. Not that you are without power--that's not what I'm saying. There's a very unique layer of power which is more like sorcery. It order to command it you need to be disciplined enough to command yourself. Not only parts of yourself, but all of yourself. That process is where most eventually opt-out. The thing is you don't have to go all the way either. You can go part way--and then stop. Wolf did that. He took time away to have a life. Having a life isn't bad either--it means we don't entirely get to move past "the eagle" (that's such a horrible phrase, but it's what you naguals prefer to use, so meh, it gets my point across).
The fine print requires you abandon a sense of self. I've heard one of the most difficult things for those who make that sacrifice is that when people they love ask them "who are you"--they draw a blank. Some have the ability to love, but they never know themselves because they removed themselves. They can create a new self, but that's not themselves. The absence of self is quite empty. Meaning is removed from life because they have no true point of reference to hold that meaning.
That's why it's easier for people who have a life without meaning to make such a payment. Their sacrifice is less. Right now, you have a lot of meaning in your life. Personally, I suggest you wait. Power will always exist, it's not going anywhere. You can access pieces of power without having to give up the self. You've already done this with music, you understand the movement of energy. I'm uncertain what else you're hoping to achieve. I mean, it's obvious you want power--but the power you want is not a sacrifice worth making (right now). Maybe shift your focus to an area of power which won't demand payment. If not power, what else do you want?
