Hi serloco, from what I have seen understanding/seeing that one is imperfect, even ugly, is a big step on the path of knowledge. You need to stare it in the eye and not look away. And you need to wish with all your soul to change and do a lot of hard work. Congrats . No irony intended. You can intend a change from there and if you keep at it then magic will happen. A new beginning is a powerful step for a sorcerer.
Since you were not employing your heart enough (following power and control), as you write here, it makes sense that you made different decisions and judgements than you otherwise would have. This is not the fault of sorcery. Sorcery is not evil, it is a tool. It depends on the user how they use the tool. Power is actually a burden, a big part of it is. If that is what you followed, it makes sense to me you might need to unburden yourself. It is not a coincidence that power is one of the 4 enemies of man. Sorcery does not destroy love. Sorcery fosters joy, happiness, kindness, courtesy, forbearance, love, life, the amazing stuff of the universe and of humans. It opens your heart, helps you grow, your awareness expands and hugs all of creation. So much love your spirits soar and you are lifted up like a feather. You going into the darker parts of reality is not about sorcery. Sorcery enhances things and if you do not work enough on your balance, and emotional stability etc, it will enhance all the cracks and bents of your character/personality - this is so that they become visible to you and you can work on them, smooth them out, heal and grow. We always see the world through our own self/bubble, hence all your world will be reflected through these imperfections (whether you deploy a sorceric world view or not).
God is just a different way to say spirit. Sorcery/shamanism is very much in sync with spirit. Probably, if I were to make sense of your message, you were just told it is not the right way what you are doing. Your sorcery is not. Sorcery/shamanism in general is not flavoured by our personal intents and ways of doing things.
