I am bowing out
#35
I did the same path.I would in hindsight phrase it thusly-
i Used to look at peoples potential to become creatures of powerwith that potential came the power but also all the ugly cruelty with it.it was a reflection of intent of my own bid for poweras  being human i too had these potentials.over time as my potential changedso did the relative potential of those around me.of course they and all people still have the potential to be power
and to be cruel about it, but i do not.
the story you highlighted above was of course a lie.it was intended to be in your style..the roomate objective story.my rendition was actually overlayed upon a memoryof when i was a virgin of 16 and a girl I very much loveddecided to take off her top and exposed her brazzierre as she changed
from gym slip to mufti cloth.i nearly fell over my feet, went red and stammered.she knew she had killed me. (Or her father had)ah well..
"Mufti
Day is so named," it said, "because it was inspired by the practice of
General Mufti, who found that sagging morale in the British Army was
boosted by the policy of allowing the men to wear civilian clothing
instead of uniforms on certain days of the year."

Well... Certainly "mufti" is a military and colonial expression. The OED
records it as early as 1816, in Grand Master by "Quiz", a book which
introduced readers to the flavour of British India. The hero takes off
his "mufti" and puts on his "red": in those days uniforms came in bright
colours to give the enemy a sporting chance.

A 'mufti' is a Muslim priest or Islamic judge. Apparently, British
officers thought their off-duty dressing gown, smoking cap and slippers
made them resemble Eastern religious leaders, or at least those they'd
seen in Aladdin and Ali Baba.
