Is there anyone who can see energy directly as it flows in the universe ?

I've managed to see what seems like energetic outlines, sort of a white border around people and engaged from time to time in "reading" others energies by trying to find where they are in a darkened room as I presume most have done, however, other than a novelty, I see no purpose to it.
