Today as I was hiking in Guanella Pass, high above the little town of Georgetown, I came across a pillar of stones. This stack was about 4 feet high, with many, many types of stones on it. I could tell that these stones had been brought there from other areas. On the ground next to this altar of stones I found a small batch of feathers. There were 3 wing feathers about 6 inches long. These were still connected together. At the base was a group of 3 small 2 inch feathers and all 6 were connected. The long ones were white with blue florescent tips. The small feathers were white with black tips. I quickly looked around. These were Magpie feathers. High about me a Hawk was circling. I instinctively knew these feathers were castoffs from his kill.... a gift to me from my Hawk brother. The Magpies talk to me like the Ravens when I see them. I don't know how to link to them as I do the Ravens, but we are brothers. The feathers are here with me now. I have separated them into 3 pairs (1 big, 1 small).
