i fumbled and found a plastic bag, shared the milk. (Mexicans sell soft-drinks in a plastic-bag with a straw).
"do you want some bread?" she offered from her large collection of dry bread, feeling completely equall - like a freind, not like a bugger given a hand-out.
"no, thanks, i have some" - i shaw her the loaf i had bought.
"give the cat some milk, ha?"
"Claro" (of course).
"how does he take the lead?"
"like everybody..."
"not everybody is equal. a cat is not a dog, you know..."
she didn't answer, as if she feels right, but can't tell me about it.
"why don't you leave him home?"
"i live in - (forgot th name). it's so very far!"
"hey, what happened to your skin?"
"who knows?" she smiled.
"Adios"
