Well, yes I've read it, perhaps without understanding.
Currently, I was reading Dee Brown's, "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee", and if I can find my copy of "Black Elk...", will move on to that.
Perhaps I was indulging in sentiment: I love Robbie Robertson's song on the subject.
I do have to wonder, though, as Dee Brown wrote about the Christian basis of the Ghost Dance, maybe to accent the fact of the murders of those who danced.
How about a new Dance? A new Council and a New Name?
That makes sense from a Toltec view.
After all, Brown makes it clear that every time the Indians were to be Swindled, military leaders brought a Christian Preacher along, for scolding purposes most likely.
Personally, I think I at the end of the Jesus thing. Americans are always at their Nastiest during these holidays
