This reminds me of a fella I know in Atlanta, Ga. We phone call about once a month.
He is a Christian, always asking , "... have you gotten on your knees today in worship?".
Well, I can't explain how prayer really wasn't very effective for me.
don Juan , as Castaneda wrote it, says that Spirit makes its own decisions in our lives, so, our pleas cannot change a thing. Actually, there are similar remarks in the Bible.
We live in an ocean of Spirit, and must learn to swim with the currents, to listen to the 'commands' , the Silent Voice.
We don't Command infinity, and God is Unknowable.
"...every major world that falls apart falls together again. When the demon is at your door...". -Steely Dan
Difficult to accept, necessaty to believe.
