"That's the only advantage a warrior has over the average man. The warrior is never disappointed when he fails to change."
Because a warrior knows he is as a river which wears down the stones and cuts deep canyons. His patience is born of the fact that he knows he will never stop seeking the Spirit. He cannot.
At whatever level he has been convinced that there is something more "out there" than what he has experienced. And he may have experienced much or little already.
He only knows that this shadow world in which we live is not all there is. What would be the point of stopping? The effort is the same whether he moves or stays put.
Even a skid-row bum's days are filled with effort. Where will he sleep that night, how will he stay warm?
"All of the rivers run to the seas, yet the seas are not full."
