Forcing Silence.
#14
Dr.Green,
first I want to say thank you for your generous way of sharing your knowledge with us. I tried to look for you tonight in my dreams, but was only confronted with my dreaming body several times. At least I did some great flights with that awareness, bearing in mind to intend to stay up there and do this swimming movement.
The knowledge you post is only an oral tradition I suppose, or I have no notion of any books published on a 8th, 9th or 10th dreaming gate, which I was desperately looking for. Not regarding the worlds that open up past the fifth gate.
I myself have noticed the importance of 2nd attention when I discovered the realms past the second, third gate and 4th gate. I concluded there should be a connection between the first attention and second attention to establish a new perspective for human civilization. That link does not exist yet. The Toltec way of separating the the first ring of power with it's first attention from 2nd attention would open up a completely new possibility for Western civilization to me: There could a link be established that is grounded in the culture of our civilization.
The old religions only referred to 2nd attention by the method of 'believing in God', and some scientific movements of the old religions like the Gnostics also taught 2nd attention to introduce the apprentice to higher forms of awareness. Their methods though ignore worldly ways of living, worldly needs and a pragmatic outlook on life. It is of no relevance for a Tonal that is not familiar with the facts of 2nd attention.
That are pragmatic reflections of me on having knowledge of 2nd attention and being enthusiastic about empirical sciences.
mamalama,
Castaneda in my point of view got caught in some kind of war that exists in some vibrations of 2nd attention. He presumably lost control over his emotions. If that is true, I would interpret, that he missed to follow certain ethic rules that grant you survival in 2nd attention. He simply fell a prey to power in my opinion. He was a great writer though and was able to tell us about the Yaqui way of knowledge as taught by the Nagual Don Juan. If you take Juans advises only, you are save. I've never read anything better on techniques to get to know 2nd attention. Closest to that system of knowledge is maybe the Tibetans Buddhism, as far as I know. If you are a beginner, use for example the I Ging. It introduces you in a very descriptive way to the conditions you would be confronted with in 2nd attention, and how you can react to the universal laws that govern our lives (as long as we don't have any notion of them in terms of a thinking process).
