One more thing I learned about the dragonfly (thanks to Senear) is that it is a very old species going back all the way to the dinosaur era. Therefore, dragonfly seems to be a good ally to have by my side as I am intending to connect with my ancestors and lineage (as well as the previously mentioned remembering of forgotten memories of my self).
Later, during the evening/night, I decided to revisit the dragonfly from my dream and did this in a shamanic travel.
As I started to think about visiting the dragonfly ally through the means of a shamanic journey I started to see these pastel type colors on velvety scarfs. Each scarf a different color. The scarfs were floating in the air and mixing with each other a bit. (I remembered how I would do this with a bunch of kids, blow different unicolor scarfs into the air and then blow on them to keep them floating about and how magical this was for the kids and me, plus quite pretty too).
As I set my intent to learn about the dragonflies I found myself watching the aurora. The same colors as before in the scarfs were dancing before my eyes in the sky. Beautiful. I met the dragonfly man from my dreams and he motioned for me to watch this play of northern lights. So I did. This had a certain effect on me
. I always found northern lights to be magical and would like to see them in real waking life one day . Of course, I was also reminded of the scarfs blowing about . Magic, lightness, wonder, happiness.
I realized that the colors of the aurora are similar to the colors a dragonfly can have. The Aurora and the scarfs specifically reminded me of the wings of the dragonfly. The wings are pretty and colorful but also have this quality of being ageless and very light... and ofc like magic. They also link to illusion (but not as in fake), rather something linked to vision and the way you see - how things become more colorful and vibrant. And this is a quality of the dragonfly ally. -- this links to my dream where I saw a little different. In the dream, I thought it was due to my awareness level but I realize at this point that it is due to the quality that the dragonfly brings with it.
We come to a river which is quite calm. I observe the fluidity and mirroring of the water. And I can see the aurora again but this time thanks to the mirroring on the surface of the water.
The dragonfly man takes some water into his palms and drinks it, he then wants me to do the same. He takes some more water from the river and gives me to drink from his palms. I could also see the aurora in the water he was holding as he and I drank it.
The next thing he does is to motion for me to lie down on the ground like he does. So we lie on the grass and it is like we are going inside the ground. But not by moving into it with our bodies - those are still there on the grass. It is more like by going inside myself I am going inside the ground. Like the space that separated me from the ground disappeared and I can just fall into myself and keep going into the ground. By doing this I also go into my past of sorts - I find this links to my ancestors. Like suddenly where there was a boundary there is more space and I can go into the roots, into this space that opens, this space inside myself (it is quite intriguing to discover that I have spaces in myself like that which I do not usually use). I am pretty sure this ally is showing me this precisely due to my recent connecting with my ancestors and my intents to continue doing that in the future.
The dragonfly maybe even came to me as an ally in my dreams because of what I am trying to do with my ancestry/lineage and because I am trying to connect to my past. So its help twofold, one is to open that gateway or show me where to go to get that link and the other is that it helps me see the colors of things so maybe if I look into the past and find it is bleaker or faded that it helps see things more alive and more vividly.
The water can also easily be seen to link to life, and by being so connected to water the dragonfly also has a connection to life. And the flow of life - which I guess could again be linked to the past - to memories and ancestors.
The dragonfly man tells me to come again. I am sure I can deepen the thing we are doing with the earth. He says he is ready to help me. I thank him and I also thank him for coming into my dream. He smiles and I feel this is a good place to end. Thanks

The next thing I did is some gazing at a Labradorite stone and to my surprise what I learn about this stone also links to things I saw connected to the dragonfly and my dream. Plus there was a rune that I saw carved naturally in the stone that again linked to the qualities and aspects that I had discovered. I took this as a kind of positive reinforcement
, at least in the sense that when there is a certain type of repetition of stuff it is a positive signal (or at least shows there is power in it).
