I sure did not tell this very well.
The thing is , I had never seen a coyote in my life , before this event. So , how powerful that the encounter happened while I am exploring Castaneda. I had
no idea what was eating my waterhose. My big dog was tethered to a tree one day. I went to check on him and the creature was about 20 feet away. I stepped
between them. Something was exchanged between us. I am feeling that it wanted to die , as the wild rarely comes here. I yelled , "Go away . Scat"
And away it went.
In the region where I live , there is much Nat'l forest. In the south of the county, where I lived previously, I saw bear and deer every day. Here in
the north of the county , all land is private. The wild land is on the peaks , and I rarely see large critters. The locals hunt coyotes regularly , and must
have run the bear and deer away. I have seen deer only once in 10 years. So , my point is that this was a rare event , similar to your own , Bob , with
overtones of the Nagual.
