Therein lies the problem in taking the words from someone else's experience and turning it into liturgy. This quote is DJ talking to CC because of the nature of the relationship he had with his friends..namely that they would never let him pursue his destiny. We've probably all had relationships like that at some point, but that's not to say all relationships are like that.
For me, the bottom line is cultivating discernment....no-nonesense clarity about our personal, individual situation. In this context, its easy to figure out what we need to drop in our lives. Get silent and connect with my inner seer..and then briskly make a list of those things you I are holding me back *snap* We know how to be clear with ourselves and sort of indulge in "confusion" because we don't want to face hard facts about what's working and what's not working. Because we know there'll be a certain discomfort in letting go what's become familiar..even though its making us miserable in the long run.

I agree with the first part...but as for the second, I don't think its impossible at all. I know lots of potent warrior/sorcerers who live in cities and they all make use of what's at their disposal in terms of that special quality of energy available in the city, of which there is boatloads. Adapt! Take a lesson from the coyote, one of the only predatory animals that actually has learned to increase its numbers in the presence of man impinging on its natural territory. It's learned to adapt...and the adapting required amidst living in the city can be invaluable in terms of navigating those predatory forces out there
