The AverageMan & The Trump Card of Sorcerers
#9
"The sorcerers' experience is so outlandish that sorcerers consider it an intellectual exercise, and use it to stalk themselves with. Their trump card as stalkers , though, is that they remain keenly aware that we are perceivers and that perception has more possibilities than the mind can conceive." POS

Assembled knowledge various books:
      * * *
      I've described to you in the past the concept of stopping the world and that it is as necessary for sorcerers as reading and writing are for the average man. It consists of introducing a dissonant element into the fabric of everyday behavior for purposes of halting the otherwise smooth flow of ordinary events--events which are catalogued in our minds by our reason.
      The dissonant element is called not-doing , or the opposite of doing . Doing is anything that is part of a whole for which we have a cognitive account. Not-doing is an element that does not belong in that charted whole.
      Sorcerers, because they are stalkers , understand human behavior to perfection. They understand, for instance, that human beings are creatures of inventory. Knowing the ins and outs of a particular inventory is what makes a man a scholar or an expert in his field.
      Sorcerers know that when an average person's inventory fails, the person either enlarges his inventory or his world of self-reflection collapses. The average person is willing to incorporate new items into his inventory if they don't contradict the inventory's underlying order. But if the items contradict that order, the person's mind collapses. The inventory is the mind. Sorcerers count on this when they attempt to break the mirror of self-reflection.
    Only a human being who is a paragon of reason can move his assemblage point easily and be a paragon of silent knowledge. Only those who are squarely in either position can see the other position clearly. That was the way the age of reason came to being. The position of reason was clearly seen from the position of silent knowledge.
      The one-way bridge from silent knowledge to reason is called "concern." That is, the concern that true men of silent knowledge have about the source of what they know. And the other one-way bridge, from reason to silent knowledge, is called "pure understanding." That is, the recognition that tells the man of reason that reason is only one island in an endless sea of islands.
      A human being who has both one-way bridges working is a sorcerer in direct contact with the spirit, the vital force that makes both positions possible.

Their trump card as “stalkers”, though, is that they remain keenly aware that we are perceivers and use sense data in utterly ordinary situations to forge a dreaming body. The dream body can only be reached by working on it here in the daily. If you want to 'appear' in dreaming you have to show up in the daily world.
There is a critical mass trigger in the body that launches an inviduals consciousness off into the the more abundant, extremely filled living universe that exists. That is if you are a sorcerer. If you're not trained then your self-reflection crashes into piles of rubble and self-pity and sharp points of self-importance.  When the sorcerer shatters his own mirror of self-reflection, as Genero used to say, BOOOM! BOOM! BOOM!  . . . the sorcerer experiencing the dreaming body. The averageman's mind collapses into defeat or bewilderment and then hate.
The sorcerer is unattached to the world and specifically uses sounds, tastes, touches, smells, and sights of the world to 'feed' the dream body. The dream body is hungry for and the averageman has never been taught how to feed it. It doesn't feed on self-pity nor self-importance. The dream body feeds on sense data. A sorcerer knows this and will as he's working away at McDee's or something, relabel the sound of a fan with his own intentional label - the sound of fan is now something abstract because the sorcerers intends to roam the greater universe.
The sorcerer may intend to experiences the finding of his hands in his dreams. Or she may intend to experience the course of evolution on Earth. A sorcerer with a dedicated not-doing practice has an abstract intention always going. It creates the dissonance needed to reach the 2nd set of practice whereby the sounds, tastes and textures, etc., of the world are transmuted by the sorcerers very will. The Sorcerer collects the abstract sensory information in the environment by paying attention to it. Listenining intently to the sound of the fan, circling my attention onto the not-doing and back again to the idea that don juan spoke of:

"A warrior-hunter knows that his death is waiting, and the very act he is performing now may well be his last battle on earth. I call it a battle because it is a struggle. Most people move from act to act without any struggle or thought. A hunter, on the contrary, assesses every act; and since he has an intimate knowledge of his death, he proceeds judiciously, as if every act were his last battle. Only a fool would fail to notice the advantage a hunter has over his fellow men. A hunter gives his last battle its due respect. It’s only natural that his last act on earth should be the best of himself. It’s pleasurable that way. It dulls the edge of his fright."

Sorcerers are known to prepare elaborate, rich, delicsious meals or simple snacks and can devour an entire meal with the sole intention of manifesting any thing they that strikes a tune with the spirit at large: finding their hands in the dreams, or flying in their dreams or turning into another kind of animal. Every morsel of the meal eaten as if were his last. The taste, the touch, the feel of it on his tongue. All these incredible sensations/sense data channeled directly to an abstract intent.

The Sorcerers call it: The Calling of Intent.
A Sorcerer/Warrior calls out his name into the vastness and loudly states his intention. Then he works his butt off keeping to that decision to eat breakfast every morning with his abstract intention. Overtime, even this new habit will slowly collect abstract sense data into his/her body and with persistence a critical mass is reached. And Shazam!! There it all is! An immense waking in dreaming.
