I
recently got back from performing up in the mountains. I sang If You
Knew Suzie for the first time as well as Yellow Submarine, Act
Naturally, a couple of Elvis classics :It's Now Or Never, Good Luck
Charm. Plus others. Plugging into the car stereo and singing without a
microphone can be daunting. There is no echo to hide behind.
I
truly used to be a professional musical entertainer and my standards are
EXTREMELY HIGH. I never quite reach them, but I can come close and will
come a lot closer and surpass my wildest dreams of what I can
accomplish if I would just record my rehearsals and fix certain things
that Mother Nature has recently told me how to fix.
I have been
asked what all this has to do with Castaneda. Well, being able to have a
wonderful relationship with Mother Nature is what don Juan was all
about. Don Juan's teachings were about 'the right way to live' and that
is in harmony with what the Buddha taught. There is indeed a 'right way
to live' in order to make the most of life. When you make the efforts to
live properly and Mother Nature accepts your offerings of gratitude and
appreciation it becomes a whole different world when I am with Nature.
There is nothing quite so wonderful as to feel the loving appreciation
of plants and trees.
