((( THE GREAT SACATECA JEREMY DONOVAN DEBATE )))
#35
As far as I am concerned, the only RIGHT direction is the one where we are ALWAYS ready to upgrade EVERYTHING we may currently believe when greater truth crosses our paths. I am casually ready to drop anything I once believed if it no longer serves me. Religions can't do that and OBVIOUSLY neither can scientists.
Correction: it may take a VERY LONG TIME for science to officially change its overall views, but at least science is willing to change its overall views. I was going to say not so with religions, but...they didn't used to tolerate gays in Christianity as they do now, right? Or woman pastors, right?
I say it's a safe bet that you have to wait for the old farts to die out and the young to take over for an overall view to change whether in science or religion. As long as the old farts are in power chances are nothing will change except for the worse.
So who are we supposed to blindly believe about books being fiction or non-fiction? Certainly not UCLA. I mean, if they could AT LEAST openly admit they were wrong about Carlos Castaneda that would be noble. Go to their website. They have nothing bad to say WHATSOEVER, that I have found, about Carlos Castaneda. If, after giving him a Ph. D, they now feel he was a fraud they should let the world know. Instead they act as though nothing bad happened at all. You may call that honesty, but I say only a fool would trust UCLA on ANY matters involving the status of "fiction" vs "non-fiction" in ANY situation!
If you can't expect bold honesty from a university DON'T BLINDLY TRUST THEM no matter what they may say on ANY subject. Do your own independent research and always come to the conclusions that work best for YOU. Don't let ANYBODY sucker you.

THINK FOR YOURSELF!!

YOU and YOUR personal views are AT LEAST as important and useful as THEM and THEIR views.
What works for you may not work for anyone else, but if it works for you I say: DO IT!
