I Am That I Am....this is what God's name is. Full awareness to be everywhere, anytime, anyplace. This is the totality of oneself.
Total agreement.
I once went to a little place called Marfa, Texas. There have been so-called "mystery lights" appearing there since before the white man came to America - recorded way back into Native American history. Anyway... on the night I was there - and I admit I was skeptical - we were privileged to witness a phenomenal display of these lights, which start off looking like a motorcycle in the distance, but rise up into the air, turn all sorts of brilliant colors, appear and disappear, and generally defy the laws of physics & logic. Magick, in other words. No swamps nearby, so not swamp gas. No logical explanation anyone has been able to come up with. Some simply appear in the air, well above ground level, then wink out again... coming and going like beautiful dancers.
As I sat there in awe that night, I opened my mind to one of these lights that had been hovering for a few minutes, silently wondering... "What are you? Where do you come from? Where are you going?"
Although I expected no answer, I was immediately embraced by a wave of silent knowing, and the words... "I am a singularity of consciousness."
I can't describe the feelings I experienced as a result of this, nor the profound effect it had on my life. Sure, I could choose to explain it away, to believe it was just my own inner dialog having a laugh, but the reality of it was that I felt and simply knew this to be true. This being which manifested briefly as a "mystery light" was everywhere and nowhere at the same time, outside of time and beyond time's end. It simply was... I-Am.
A short while later that night, some film students showed up and began filming the lights for a documentary they were making. One of them met my eyes and we spoke briefly about the Marfa lights, speculating as to what they might be. There was something so raw and humorous in that young man's eyes... and I know now that the singularity was looking out through his perception in that moment, as if to say, "Hello. I'm here, too."
I'll never forget that night. I want to say the light was mySelf, having a bit of fun in the middle of nowhere at the edge of the All, trying to see if my mortal/human self could even fathom my immortal/eternal Self... but for now I'll just say I was forever changed by that experience, that silent Knowing, witnessing the I-Am which chose to show itself as a light.
