I'm not sure where this definition of a Nagual comes from. What is being described might easily be said to be a Bodhisattva.
From Wikipedia:It is anyone who, motivated by great compassion, has generated bodhicitta, which is a spontaneous wish to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Nowhere within the works of Castaneda, in my understanding, is a Nagual described in the terms being used here. If we are to use don Juan and his lineage as examples of a Nagual, then I've never encountered one.
