See, I realized something important I think. Why do this? Why post? Why connect? Why share?
I think.... that much of my posting has been for selfish reasons. To elevate my own levels of personal power and establish myself as a being of unusual levels thereof. Inevitably I find I come into conflict with MYSELF in posting. This is because ultimately I am not a selfish person and nothing I do is for me. I could care less about me, sad as it may seem.
So- in the story one person aquires power selfishly and one selflessly. Oh, to be sure, they both gain the same ammount of power. One of them, though, suffers serious consequences, and one of them doesn't. The selfless person got the magic to give to other people. The selfish one well just for themself- wound up pale and sick looking as the great power gift bestowed itself 'cause they saw that they'd have to live with their own petty minded evil forever.
So this applies to the current moment for me as - realizing my essential nature as a healer and a teacher and a guardian of living things- I must post in such a method as benefits YOU - the reader - and not ME - the writer. The latter will only induce misery. This brings many circular arguments and logical tangents into my head but Im gonna ignore those for now, LoL.
I have some inclination to imagine that my somewhat vast expertise in the field of entheogens can be of benefit to many of you.
Specifically I would do all in my power to assure that none of you ever make the same sorts of mistakes I have made and suffered from in my attempts to gain power and understanding through the use of entheogens. Then again maybe none of you are interested in entheogens and that's fine.
This is a good thread and I'd hate to see it fade away.
Herb, can you comment a bit more on selfish and un-selfish?
What makes one, one or the other?? Our personal judgement of it? Something external to us? Societies morals and values?
What exactly is Personal Power?
How do each of us go about obtaining it? (If that's even a valid question).
SHM
