All these sensoric images are of tactile nature, are not they? In all lucid and not lucid dreams there is one common element - a transfering between situations, seeing by dreamer. This transfering is not awared usually, but has unhuman form as the heavy carpet and just tactile nature, has not it? May be, the double is hiding in the space among situations and normally is not awared,but rules the body transfer from one situation to another in reality and in dreams.
It's suggetion of course, but it seems to me I had read this in CC books. And it can explain why son saw SSilhouette in hemitransparent halfcondenced form why CC recomends dreaming practice. And why nobody meets himself/double.
